Role OverviewAgility Robotics is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager, Systems Integration to join our SEIT Technical Program team. This role owns planning and execution for systems integration while supporting the stand up of a new Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test capability, partnering closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Software engineering to keep the robot's path from subsystem to full system on track.
You're equally comfortable running a planning session with program leadership and sitting in a design review working through an interface spec with an electrical engineer. People need to be able to hand you a half-formed integration risk and trust you'll turn it into a plan, and they need to be able to send you into a room to represent their work without anything getting lost in translation. This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be at our San Francisco Bay Area (Fremont) facility at least 3-days a week and occasional travel to the RobotFab facility in Salem, Oregon.
Key Responsibilities- Plan with the people who'll live the plan: partner with the Senior Manager of Systems Integration and with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Software leads to turn program goals into sequenced integration plans, with clear owners, dependencies, and dates,
- Own the integration pipeline: keep the integration Jira project and dashboards current: asset status, build milestones, bugs, and the weekly rhythm that keeps the program honest about where things stand.
- Run the cadence: lead planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, and keep sprint goals tied to the broader program milestones,
- Get ahead of dependencies: surface dependencies on partner teams early enough that they're a planning conversation,
- Build the HIL capability: own the roadmap and timeline for our HIL test capability, partnering closely with our HIL architect and the cross-functional team to drive automated test development and test coverage across subsystems and full systems.
- Make test data decision-ready: build program-level visibility into test coverage, automation status, and failure trends, and use that data to drive real calls about what ships.
- Clear the path: coordinate the benches, rigs, and simulation environments HIL testing needs, and unblock whatever's standing between the team and the next test run.
- Know the system, not just the schedule: build a real working understanding of the robot's architecture and interfaces, enough to catch an integration gap before it becomes a schedule risk.
- Be the trusted translator: facilitate technical discussions across hardware, firmware, and software teams to resolve interface questions and surface risks early, and represent that engineering work clearly and accurately in cross-functional and leadership reviews.
- Track it to the end: drive cross-functional tracking of issues, risks, and dependencies through to resolution, and escalate the ones that matter with a clear recommendation,
- Make program health legible: maintain dashboards, status reports, and documentation that let anyone, from an individual engineer to program leadership, understand where integration actually stands.
Technical Skills & RequirementsCore Requirements- 8+ years of experience in technical program management, systems integration, or hardware/robotics engineering, including 3+ years leading cross-functional technical programs.
- Experience building and managing integration plans: schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation, for complex electromechanical systems.
- Strong technical understanding of systems engineering, system bring-up, integration testing, and the interfaces between hardware, firmware, and software.
- A track record of running technical discussions with engineers directly and representing their work accurately to cross-functional partners and leadership.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence, and comfort building dashboards or reports that make program health legible at a glance.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with humanoid robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, automotive manufacturing, or other complex electromechanical platforms.
- Familiarity with hardware, firmware, and software release processes and configuration management.
- Direct experience designing, standing up, or scaling Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test systems, automated test frameworks, or simulation-based validation environments.
- Background in reliability tracking, issue management, and root cause analysis.
- PMP/PgMP certification, or equivalent practical rigor.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
