Position OverviewAs a Senior Tax Associate within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Tax Compliance Team is a core function within PNC Corporate Tax that is responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. This includes preparing all necessary tax calculations to conform with all relevant laws and regulations as well as maintaining appropriate documentation to support audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews. The team consistently works with other areas of the organization (Finance, Accounting, Legal, etc.) to provide insight and guidance as it relates to tax planning and strategy.
You would be joining a team of individuals with various backgrounds in both Accounting and Finance. This position offers a unique blend of both project-based and cyclical work due to the inherent deadlines associated with the position as well as specific ad-hoc projects that arise due to legislative changes or corporate initiatives. This role would allow you to become a subject matter expert in various areas of Corporate Tax as well as learn about the fundamental principles of corporate taxation.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to organizational tax reporting and planning
• Gather, reconcile, and validate data used in tax calculations
• Oversee completion of accurate and complete tax returns for the organization
• Coordinate, facilitate, and resolve all taxing authority inquiries and audits
• Analyze legislative developments and advise others of organization-related impacts at federal, state, and local levels.
• Formulate and implement tax strategies that meaningfully contribute to PNC’s tax liability and risk profile
• Manage special projects and process improvements

Job Description- Strong contributor to organizational tax reporting, tax planning and compliance function.
- Oversees the completion of accurate tax returns to manage risk and minimize the tax obligations of the organization, utilizing general ledger and related financial documents as applicable. May also complete or assist with the completion of tax accounting entries and account reconciliations.
- Shows initiative and demonstrates autonomy in managing technical tax areas. Coordinates, facilitates and resolves all taxing authority inquiries and audits.
- Mentoring junior staff on appropriate regulations, filing procedures and internal communication needs. Keeps up-to-date with and advises others of company-related tax regulations at the federal, state and local levels.
