Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of our data center infrastructure. This position is critical to supporting our mission-critical systems and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across both on-premise and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in both Windows and Linux environments, extensive experience with monitoring and disaster recovery solutions, and a strong foundation in virtualization, cloud services, storage, and preferably high-performance computing (HPC). This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of data center infrastructure components.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient systems in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud).
  • Administer and maintain enterprise Windows and Linux systems.
  • Develop and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Optimize storage and compute infrastructure for high performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application needs and integration projects.
  • Document systems designs, procedures, configurations, and provide knowledge transfer.
  • Proactively monitor systems performance and reliability, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to incidents with urgency and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency in both Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) environments.
  • Proven experience in data center design, build-out, and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/AWS GovCloud, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Ceph).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and integration with infrastructure systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
