We are looking for a foundational engineer to work directly with leadership in defining system architecture and building the technical foundation of a new platform. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation by defining high (architecture) to low (component) level design for extending, scaling, and maintaining our AI SDK.

This is a high leverage role where one engineer is expected to deliver the impact of multiple traditional roles through strong system thinking and AI-assisted development. You will be one of the first critical hires, helping shape both the system and the future team.

Responsibilities

1. Design systems across:

- Architecture

- Modules / Components / Containers

- API contracts

2. Translate business needs into scalable and efficient technical systems.

3. Use AI tools to:

- Generate code

- Critically review and validate outputs

4. Define and evaluate:

- Testing strategies

- Edge cases

- Failure scenarios

5. Navigate and understand large codebases independently.

6. Contribute to technical direction and hiring decisions.

Requirements

Must Have
• 10+ years of experience.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Ability to deeply understand and critique complex systems.
• Strong grasp of testing in complex environments.
• Experience working with AI-assisted development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
• Generalist background across multiple domains.
• Experience building systems from scratch.
• Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and complexity.
• Recent hands-on coding experience including agentic coding.
