The global law firm of K&L Gates is seeking a Senior Specialist, Executive and Internal Communications to join one of our US offices. The Senior Specialist, Executive and Internal Communications will support a growing internal communications team during a pivotal development phase. Reporting to the Director, Executive and Internal Communications, this role focuses on improving how employees stay informed, connected, and engaged. The position combines process-building and governance with hands-on tasks like writing, editing, and daily execution. Responsibilities include planning firmwide communications, refining content, managing tools and channels, and collaborating with colleagues to advance projects. This role offers firmwide exposure, involvement in high-visibility communications, and the opportunity to shape the team's standards and practices.

Director, Executive and Internal Communications, Senior Manager, Executive and Internal Communications, Human Resources leadership and team members, External communications colleagues, Other internal stakeholders and vendors, as appropriate

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Drafting and editing internal communications and plans, including intranet stories, leadership announcements, leader communications, summaries, slide decks, scripts, and other supporting materials.
• Owning and maintaining the Executive and Internal Communications team's editorial calendar, keeping a clear view of active work, priorities, deadlines, dependencies, and risks.
• Managing internal communications dashboards, identifying timing conflicts, competing messages, dependencies, and opportunities to better plan communications across the firm.
• Managing firmwide newsletter creation, including establishing timelines, collecting and refining content, coordinating with contributors, and producing materials for review and publication.
• Leading the project management of communications projects and campaigns, developing plans, coordinating contributors, tracking actions, and helping keep work on schedule.
• Publishing and maintaining content across internal communication channels, collaborating with content owners to ensure accuracy, approvals, timing, relevance, and audience alignment.
• Putting communications plans into action and serve as a central point of coordination for communications requests, clarifying scope, timing, responsibilities, and delivery approach.
• Reviewing and editing communications to ensure accessibility, clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with firm standards, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Leveraging emerging technology to develop and improve templates, processes, workflows, governance, and other tools that enhance team performance
• Collaborating closely with and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in Client Growth, Human Resources, Digital, Technology, and other teams globally.
• Managing multiple priorities independently, use sound judgment, handle confidential information appropriately, and know when to seek senior input.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Hold Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Exhibit remarkable emotional intelligence, adapting responses to diverse perspectives, fostering trust, and effectively engaging with individuals in various contexts and environments.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion, recognizing situations that are sensitive or require input from senior-level personnel.
• Demonstrate ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to adapt when priorities change.
• Demonstrate ability to quickly and clearly write and edit content for different audiences, channels, and purposes.
• Demonstrate expertise in AI and proficiency with Microsoft tools. Gain experience using project-management tools, content systems, intranets, email platforms, or reporting tools.
• Demonstrate exceptional organization and project management skills, with experience navigating several projects, contributors, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
• Demonstrate ability to take direction and turn it into a clear plan of action, follow up with others, and keep work moving.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and the confidence to work effectively with colleagues at different levels across the firm.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing clear, accurate, and polished work.
• Demonstrate 2-5 years of relevant experience in internal or corporate communications within professional services or a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.

Compensation Salary $97,392 - $182,594/year

The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
