Full Job Description
Working as a key member of the Sourcing team, the CapEx Sourcing Manager will focus on the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Category Management, leading sourcing initiatives for manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and test systems critical to Oura's new product introduction and mass production readiness. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Finance to ensure that all capital investments meet business requirements for cost, quality, scalability, and reliability.
What You Will Do:
• Develop and implement commercial strategies for capital equipment, tooling, and manufacturing systems used across Oura's global contract manufacturing network. Identify and drive reuse, standardization, and cost-optimization opportunities to minimize overall capital spend.
• Build and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost efficiency, innovation, lead-time, scalability, and long-term supplier capability to support Oura's growth, new product introductions (NPI), and technology roadmap.
• Develop a deep understanding of equipment and tooling technologies used in high-precision manufacturing, automation, and enclosure production. Continuously monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for process improvement, equipment reuse, and cost reduction.
• Identify, qualify, and manage strategic supplier relationships. Conduct business reviews, supplier capability assessments, and drive alignment on performance metrics, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives.
• Lead commercial negotiations and contracting for all CapEx-related procurements, including equipment, tooling, installation, and service agreements. Ensure compliance with NDAs, T&Cs, and lifecycle cost management best practices.
• Develop and maintain cost models, should-cost analyses, and benchmarking frameworks for capital investments, incorporating total cost of ownership (TCO), depreciation, and ROI analysis. Support budget planning and forecasting across global programs.
• Partner with Hardware Engineering, NPI Manufacturing, and Operations to define technical and functional specifications for equipment and tooling, and ensure supplier deliverables align with Oura's production readiness timelines.
• Champion continuous improvement in sourcing processes, supplier engagement, and capital investment governance. Support system adoption, asset reuse, and global alignment on equipment lifecycle management practices. Influence cross-functional teams to implement best-in-class CapEx management methodologies.
This is a hybrid role out of our San Francisco office.
