What you'll be doing

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software programs.
• Specifically, build a portfolio of tools and platform capabilities that empower our programming operations team.
• Build user experiences and tools that define and drive content workflows.
• Code, test, document and deliver scalable and reliable platform services and components that create the foundation of the core web application platform with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility and search engine optimization.
• Optimize and streamline Roku's web application platform to facilitate a seamless implementation experience for our developers and partners.
• Suggest tools, cloud-based technologies/services and best practices to improve the site stability, performance and quality.
• Participate in Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance and support.
• Responsible for completion of individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with limited supervision.

You are required to have

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in the position or a related occupation.

Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:

1. Algorithms & Data Structures.
2. Full Stack Web Development using JavaScript frameworks React, NodeJS, TypeScript, and React Native.
3. Object-oriented design paradigm.
4. Cloud Computing & Infrastructure technologies AWS Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.
5. HTML, CSS, and Java.
6. Database/Storage Systems DynamoDB, S3, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
7. Software Engineering practices.

Up to one day per week telecommuting may be permitted.

For California Only - The annual salary for this position is $255,000 - $527,000.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
