Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The Senior Software Engineer - Submarine Combat Systems, will be responsible for forward-looking development of software and infrastructure architecture deployable into a Linux-based Common Computing Environment (CCE) PaaS. The candidate will also be responsible for improving the software and infrastructure build process along with setup and configuration of hardware/software test environments, managing and coordinating external communications, and team leadership.
Essential Capabilities (Required):
- Success architecting infrastructure within the SWFTS environment, engaging and coordinating with key stakeholders
- Experience integrating containerized software applications in Kubernetes or another container runtime
- Advanced troubleshooting techniques for isolation of software, infrastructure, and systems-level problems, including on products not developed by your team or contract
- Experience with automated testing for deploying and managing custom containerized applications and open-source tools and components.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles in the development of prototype and production software products
Desired Capabilities:
- Experience with Ansible IaC, Java Spring Boot, Python, Kubernetes
- Experience generating Docker container files from scratch
- Experience with Bash scripting
- Previous or current leadership role(s) within an integrated product team structure
- Understanding of cluster networking and design capabilities
In-depth experience of two or more from the below list:
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
