Full Job Description
Your Job
Your mission is to build Sparteo's publisher business on the US East Coast by winning the independent premium and mid-market publishers (Tier 2) that the big platforms overlook. You use your network, your credibility and your hunting skills to identify high-potential publishers, convince their decision-makers to upgrade their monetization, and close exclusive monetization partnerships with Sparteo.
As one of our first senior sales leaders in the US, you also help shape how we grow: which segments we prioritize, how we position Sparteo against established players, and how our North American supply team scales.
Strategic Prospecting & Network Activation
• Hunt for high potential: map the US web to find independent publishers, vertical and niche media, regional outlets and digital-first brands (Tier 2) that are under-monetized or poorly served by their current partner. Think beyond New York: the Northeast, the Southeast and the Midwest have a rich and underexploited publisher landscape.
• Activate your network: open doors through the relationships you have built with publisher owners, founders and revenue leaders, and turn them into a qualified pipeline.
• Smart qualification: quickly assess a publisher's ad stack, traffic quality and revenue potential (SimilarWeb, BuiltWith, ad stack analyzers) to focus your energy on the accounts with the strongest upside.
• Pipeline ownership: build and maintain a robust, predictable pipeline, with rigorous forecasting against ambitious revenue targets.
Executive Selling & Closing
• Sell to decision-makers: engage CEOs, founders, CROs and Heads of Revenue, and position Sparteo as a strategic monetization partner rather than one more vendor.
• Make complexity simple: translate header bidding, consent, page experience (Core Web Vitals) and yield into a clear business case, and show publishers what they leave on the table today (Sparteo delivers +30% RPM on average).
• Structure exclusive partnerships: lead negotiations on long-term agreements, focusing the discussion on value and revenue uplift, and work with Legal on contractual terms.
• Fast time-to-revenue: coordinate seamless handoffs with our Account Management and Ad Operations teams so that every new partner sees results quickly.
Market Intelligence & US Playbook
• Feedback loop: bring structured insights on US publisher needs, objections and market specifics to our leadership and Product teams (state privacy laws and GPP, the weight of managed-service networks, CTV and video adoption).
• Competitive edge: know the managed-service and monetization players active with US Tier 2 publishers (such as Mediavine, Raptive, Ezoic, Freestar, Playwire), and master the arguments to displace them.
• Shape the playbook: help define our US go-to-market, share best practices with the West Coast team, and contribute to structuring our North American supply business as it grows.
Your profile for this job
Must Have:
• 10+ years in ad tech or digital media sales on the publisher side, with a proven track record of closing and growing publisher partnerships in the US.
• An established network among US Tier 2 publishers (independent premium, mid-market, vertical and niche media), with real decision-maker relationships.
• Experience selling exclusive or managed-service monetization solutions, beyond plain non-exclusive SSP integrations.
• Executive presence and negotiation skills: you are credible with publisher owners and C-level, and you know how to structure and close long-term partnerships.
• Hunter DNA: you open new accounts, handle objections and keep closing, with the seniority to run complex deals on your own.
• Based in the New York area, and ready to travel to meet publishers.
Should Have:
• Solid understanding of programmatic mechanics: header bidding, SSPs, ad servers, yield and consent management (GPP, US state privacy laws).
• Strong analytical mindset: you build data-backed business cases (RPM uplift, traffic analysis, yield comparison).
• Experience in a fast-growing ad tech company or a market launch, where you had to build rather than inherit a book of business.
• AI-native reflex: you use AI tools every day to research, prepare and scale your sales activity.
Could Have:
• Experience selling video monetization or CMP / consent solutions as part of a broader stack.
• Knowledge of CTV and in-app monetization trends in the US.
• Experience coaching or mentoring other sellers, with the appetite to take on a broader supply leadership role in North America over time.
• Familiarity with tools like SimilarWeb, BuiltWith or ad stack analyzers.
• French is a plus (not required).
Your mindset to share our adventure
• You want to make an impact and move things forward collectively, building on what works and questioning what can be improved.
• 🧠 You solve problems pragmatically and analytically.
• You're looking for a fast-moving environment where your agility will be an asset. The 80-20 (Pareto) principle holds no secrets for you.
• 🎧 Your ability to listen encourages you to challenge and improve yourself on an ongoing basis.
What We Offer
• 🗽 New York based, flexible: work from home and on the road, close to your publishers.
• Ground-floor opportunity: join our US expansion early and help build our North American supply business.
• International team: collaborate with teams across Europe and North America.
• AI at your fingertips: Claude is made available to every team member, within our AI usage policy.
• 🩺 Benefits: health insurance, pension plan and life insurance.
