Full Job Description
We are currently hiring a Licensed Senior Project Engineer to join our Transportation Division Lakeland or Tampa, Florida. As a Stormwater Engineer you will support local and statewide efforts in stormwater management and drainage design with an emphasis on scour, hydrology and hydraulics for transportation related projects. You will be responsible for the planning, designing, and implementation of effective drainage systems to ensure efficient conveyance and management of stormwater.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and deliver industry leading stormwater management strategies for transportation projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines
  • Conduct drainage design activities, including the analysis of existing drainage systems, designing new drainage systems and ditches, and creating appropriate plans
  • Utilize hydraulic modeling software such as ICPR4, SWMM, and HEC-RAS
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations related to drainage design and stormwater management
  • Prepare permit sketches, construction documents, specifications and cost estimates as needed
  • Perform scour analysis
  • Perform field investigations to collect data, take field measurements, photographs, sketches, and verifying surveys

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Eight (8) years experience as a Civil Engineer supporting transportation projects
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Florida
  • Advanced knowledge of drainage design, H&H modeling and stormwater management
  • Proficient with industry software: MicroStation, HEC-RAS, Civil3d, ICPR, FDOT Connect/OpenRoads Designer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Experience supporting Florida Department of Transportation and other local Florida agencies
