Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, strategic Senior Program Manager to lead the execution of complex programs while overseeing a portfolio of programs aligned to customer, contractual, and business objectives. This role is responsible for driving portfolio performance across cost, schedule, technical execution, customer satisfaction, and overall business results. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well independently, thinks strategically, solves technical and business problems, collaborates effectively across functions, communicates clearly with stakeholders, and manages competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role may also include managing, mentoring, and developing a team of Program Managers to ensure successful execution across the portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of complex programs while providing oversight and direction across a portfolio of programs
  • Manage program and portfolio performance to ensure alignment with customer requirements, contract commitments, business goals, and financial targets
  • Serve as a primary interface with customers and internal leadership on portfolio and program execution matters
  • Drive accountability, coordination, and consistent execution across cross-functional teams supporting the portfolio
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, financial, contractual, and business issues across programs
  • Monitor portfolio health through forecasts, metrics, risk assessments, variance analysis, and corrective actions
  • Balance competing priorities and make sound decisions based on technical risk, resource constraints, customer commitments, and business impact
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts, and Business Development to ensure successful program and portfolio execution
  • Support growth activities, including proposal, capture, and customer engagement efforts, as needed
  • Communicate portfolio status, risks, priorities, and recommended actions clearly to customers, senior leadership, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve execution, strengthen processes, and enhance overall portfolio performance
  • May manage, mentor, and develop a team of Program Managers responsible for successful execution of the portfolio


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in program management, with experience leading complex programs and managing multiple efforts in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other technical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program execution across multiple priorities and workstreams with limited oversight
  • Proven ability to act as a self-starter, take ownership, and drive results in dynamic or ambiguous environments
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance technical, business, financial, and customer considerations
  • Experience solving complex technical and business problems across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills, including the ability to influence teams and drive alignment across functions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and execute successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with program financials, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and performance reporting
  • Knowledge of government contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, is preferred
  • PMP, DAU, or equivalent certification is preferred
  • Experience leading or mentoring Program Managers is preferred

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
