Senior Professional Engineer / Project Manager, Civil - Site Design
Youll work out of our Seattle, Washington office, leading multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring junior engineers, and partnering directly with clients from concept development through construction. One day you might be supporting a major transit facility improvement, the next youre designing site infrastructure for a renewable energy project, academic campus, industrial facility, or municipal development.
We follow a seller-doer approach, which means youll collaborate with our Market Managers to strengthen client relationships while focusing on what you do best: delivering high-quality engineering solutions and leading successful projects. Required Qualifications:
30 Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington or ability to obtain Washington licensure through reciprocity.
30 10+ years of progressive technical design experience with site development projects including site layouts, site grading, roadway design, utility design, vehicular and/or pedestrian access, stormwater management, and site permitting.
30 Minimum of five years of progressive and successful experience managing projects; strong working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and construction.
30 Minimum of two years of business development experience demonstrated by a track record of securing new project opportunities.
30 Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, and delivering client presentations.
30 Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals with an emphasis on technical design standards, quality control, and project management practices.
30 Experience working with regulatory agencies and knowledge of permit application processes involving local jurisdictions, WSDOT, transit agencies, FEMA, Ecology, and other state and local government entities.
30 Experience and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D used to develop site designs.
30 Flexibility for limited overnight travel to conduct on-site consultations, participate in project meetings, or attend business development and industry events.
30 Must possess a valid Drivers License with a clean driving record.
Advantageous Qualifications:
30 Active professional registration or the ability to obtain registrations in additional states, with a preference for California, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
30 Prior management and site design experience for private commercial and industrial developers.
30 Prior management and site design experience for transit facilities, transportation infrastructure, and public sector projects.
30 Experience supporting agencies such as Sound Transit, King County Metro, Community Transit, WSDOT, or local municipalities is preferred.
30 Prior management and site design experience for renewable energy (solar and/or wind) infrastructure and facilities.
$120,000 - $179,000 a year
The listed salary range reflects only the base pay for candidates with 10 - 20 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Individuals who have greater experience and higher compensation expectations are encouraged to apply.
