The RoleYubico is looking for an experienced and highly collaborative Senior Product Manager to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Tools, Libraries, and Applications (TLA) that underlie many of Yubico products and services. In this role, you will be a technical leader in our product management team and work closely with builders across a variety of our products from open source libraries and SDKs which empower other developers to create amazing things with our products, command line tools for managing and using YubiKeys and YubiHSMs, as well as graphical apps for mobile and desktop platforms.
Our team works with authentication protocols like FIDO2/WebAuthn and uses cryptography to implement open standards. You'll have the opportunity to help us showcase our libraries in sample apps, making complex topics easier to use. You will help define and deliver the success of Yubico's foundational product areas and expand the use of our technology to new and innovative areas that capture the market demand. You will serve as the strategic counterpart to our Senior Director of Engineering for Tools, Libraries & Apps.
This role will own the "what" and "why" behind the enterprise-grade, secured, and reliable software used to build new applications and services that expand the value of Yubico hardware and services. To succeed, you will work closely with other product managers, engineers, solutions engineers, and operations teams to translate complex business and technical requirements into a robust definition for the foundational tools, libraries and applications in our expanding product portfolio
Tasks & Responsibilities- Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: Define and execute the long-term product vision and roadmap for our foundational tools, libraries, and applications, ensuring tight alignment with overarching business goals and customer needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner deeply across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Security teams to design high-impact capabilities that enhance product foundations that underlie efficiency and scalability of our solutions.
- Customer focus: Meet with customers to understand market demand and outcomes for new products
- Requirements Definition: Translate complex workflows and software requirements into clear, high-quality product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories.
- Technical Partnership & Conflict Resolution: Serve as the strategic unifier in cross-functional technical decisions. Actively synthesize competing priorities between product vision and architectural necessity, ensuring trade-offs are documented, data-backed, and optimized for long-term reliability.
- Data-driven Insights: Provide data-driven insights on the specific products being managed, including sales and financial performance, year-over-year trends, pipeline, etc.
- Full life cycle management: Manage the full life-cycle of a product from inception to end of life including: conception, market and requirements gathering, customer validation, creation of high-quality requirements document, management of engineering, marketing preparation, release and end-of-life processes
- Security & Compliance Management: Collaborate with security and engineering teams to ensure software systems seamlessly integrate with critical cryptographic infrastructure (such as PKI and HSMs) while maintaining Yubico's gold standard of security.
Basic Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 10+ years of progressively broadening product management experience, with a strong track record of shipping complex, enterprise-class hardware & manufacturing solutions.
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience in technical product management including development of large-scale internal tools.
- Leadership & Acumen: Proven ability to act as a constructive challenger to highly technical engineering partners. Strong business and technical acumen with the confidence to debate architectural tradeoffs and act as a constructive challenger in deeply technical environments and manage competing priorities across geographically distributed teams.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to align multi-disciplinary teams toward a unified vision.
Preferred Qualifications- Cryptographic Systems: Understanding of cryptographic systems, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), or Key Management Systems utilizing Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
- Analytical Mindset: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to diving deep into technical workflows alongside engineering teams.

Yubico offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work. This role has the annual salary range as defined below for a salary pay range for a candidate located in the San Francisco Bay Area. For roles that are filled in other locations, the compensation range will be based on data provided by the Radford McLagan Compensation Database from Aon. Final compensation is also based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
