Full Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Serverless Compute team based in Vancouver, Canada. Our team owns the products that make it radically easier for builders to build scalable, reliable, and intelligent cloud applications without managing infrastructure. Our portfolio includes some of the most widely adopted services in cloud computing: AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Amazon EventBridge, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Together, these services power millions of customer workloads, from event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration to full application deployment. Our latest innovations are defining how customers build complex, multi-step, AI-native applications on AWS, including durable execution for AI agents and next-generation compute primitives.

We're looking for a product manager that's passionate about solving customer problems and has demonstrated success in turning ambiguous customer needs into successful products. In this role, you will help evolve our serverless services by providing new capabilities and intuitive developer experiences that make it easier to build applications without the need to become an expert in distributed systems. If you're excited by cloud computing, want to help lead from the innovative edge, and have a deep-rooted passion in the evolution of computing and application development platforms, then we want to talk to you!

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a critical part of the PM organization that owns the business model and P&L, prioritization of the product roadmap, customer segmentation and pricing, and demand generation for impactful new products. You will work across engineering, business development, and marketing leads to set strategy, define the product, and make difficult, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market. You will partner with the technical leaders of the organization to ensure the programming model, scalability and reliability promises, and developer experience delight our customers. As one of the team leaders, you will play a key role in hiring additional team members, and help set the vision, values, and culture of this business.

The breadth of this role is what makes it unique. Depending on your interests and strengths, you could find yourself working on event-driven architectures that connect and integrate cloud-native systems at scale, workflow orchestration and durable execution for AI agents and distributed applications or developer and agent experiences that make building, deploying, and governing serverless applications effortless at any scale.

Further responsibilities include:

- Author documents relating to product life cycle including product roadmap, business requirements, and functional specifications

- Prototype new features and experiences

- Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment

- Work collaboratively with Engineering as an advocate for the needs of our customers

- Evaluate industry innovations and technology platforms and identify partnership and collaboration opportunities

- Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and learn what we can build to enable and delight our customers

What does it take to succeed in this role? Excitement in finding new ways to help a developer do things more efficiently or faster. A deep empathy for developer challenges, balanced with a strategic understanding of business objectives and a creative and inventive mindset to help define what we build. Demonstrated experience leading developer-facing platform efforts, and a strong technical background with familiarity with large-scale systems. Exceptional communication skills to manage the large degree of external interaction with customers and partners the role requires.
