Full Job Description
What to Expect
Sunday is building home robots, and behind every robot is a set of tools that helps our teams operate, test and improve them. These tools support robot scheduling and maintenance, data labeling and quality review, robot testing, and customer support. As the number of robots we operate and the volume of data and testing grow, these tools are becoming critical to the business. You'll be our first product manager dedicated to internal tools, focusing on high-impact workflows that require coordination across multiple teams and users-not every internal tool. You'll own what we build and why for robot operators, data collection teams, technicians, machine learning engineers, product managers, customer support, quality assurance testers, and technical program managers.
What You'll Do
Own the internal tools roadmap. Turn scattered, reactive requests into a coherent strategy that keeps maintenance costs down. Decide where tools should be combined and where different workflows or security requirements mean they should remain separate.
Prioritize tools for robot testing, robot operation and fleet management based on business impact and cross-team coordination needs. Fleet management includes robot scheduling, tracking repairs, delivering over-the-air software updates, and showing real-time robot location and health.
Define requirements for dedicated robot testing spaces: coordinate robots, people and space bookings, and support safety scanners, camera recording and live streaming. Build a path toward tests that can run without a person present.
Shape robot operation tools for distinct users: teams collecting data and evaluating robot performance, and testing, engineering and product teams running specific software versions or robot behaviors.
Work with data operations and machine learning teams to scale data labeling and quality review tools as data volume grows from in-house collection, external vendors and robot performance tests.
Learn directly from internal users. Shadow technicians, robot operators and data reviewers, and turn their workflows into clear requirements engineers can build from.
Set priorities with software engineering, data operations and other leads, and say no clearly. Help decide where AI agents that take actions on a user's behalf add value and where people should perform or control the work.
Define and track success metrics for each tool, such as adoption, time to resolve operational issues, and the amount of data reviewers can assess accurately.
Over time, potentially extend the scope to operations supporting robots in customers' homes: customer support, remote robot operation, and tools for viewing diagnostic logs. Align that scope with the consumer product roadmap.
What You'll Bring
4+ years in product management, ideally on internal platforms, operations tools or workflow software for businesses, with the seniority to independently set priorities and decide which tools and workflows to focus on.
Experience with hardware, robotics, fleets of connected devices, or machine learning data workflows such as labeling, quality review and model evaluation.
Strong discovery skills with non-technical users. You enjoy sitting next to a technician to learn how they work.
Strong technical grounding to work through tradeoffs with engineers on robot health and performance data, cloud services, data storage and access controls, and to make informed decisions about combining or separating tools.
Experience designing both AI-assisted workflows and workflows performed by people, with judgment about when to use AI agents and when to keep people in control.
Comfort with ambiguity at an early-stage company. You can write the first version of a problem statement that doesn't exist yet.
Bonus: experience with robot fleet management, remote robot operation, or test labs that connect real hardware to software-driven tests.
What success looks like in 6 months
Robot fleet operations have a coherent roadmap and clear ownership, with tools combined where appropriate and adopted by operations and support teams.
Robot testing and operation tools have scoped plans and agreed staffing that address their distinct users and coordination needs, including a path toward tests that can run without a person present.
Data labeling and quality review tools have clear ownership, a roadmap for moving robot evaluation results into a cloud-based viewer, and a plan that supports a growing data operations team.
