Description:BGE is seeking a Senior Planner to join our Planning + Landscape Architecture Studio in Houston. Responsibilities:- Conduct complex project research and review local development codes and regulations
- Conduct land use and site analysis
- Oversee the preparation of base maps and project graphics to support the planning process
- Oversee the development of conceptual plans, master plans, and lotting studies
- Oversee the preparation of zoning applications and development guidelines
- Oversee the preparation of general plans and subdivision plats
- Coordinate with clients and other consultants
- Coordinate with local governmental agencies
- Represent clients at public meetings
- Assist with special planning projects as directed by leadership
- Mentor less experienced team members
- Prepare project proposals and contracts
- Oversee monthly billings and A/R
- Participate in business development activities
Requirements:- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related field
- AICP Certification strongly desired
- 8-12 years of demonstrated work experience
- Solid understanding of planning principles, practices & techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, & Adobe Suite software
- Creative problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet firm deadlines
