Full Job Description
MTSI is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with specialized Mission Engineering experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate is someone who can bridge the gap between abstract military missions and rigorous digital architectures by translating operational Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) into executable System-of-Systems (SoS) models and facilitate integration of those digital models into mission level simulation or analysis tools.
Duties:
Lead multi-disciplinary working group, brief military stakeholders on architecture trade studies, author technical content, and assign technical duties as needed.
Translate warfighter CONOPS and mission scenarios into executable behavioral models and digital threads
Build and maintain enterprise and system architecture models using SysML, UAF, or DoDAF in Cameo Systems Modeler
Capture operational concepts, functional architectures, and logical/physical interfaces
Identify/Track Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to evaluate mission success
Integrate descriptive MBSE system models with mission-level modeling & simulation (M&S) tools like AFSIM, STK, or MATLAB/Simulink to quantify system-of-systems performance
Establish end-to-end digital traceability from high-level mission capabilities and requirements down to subsystem components and verification/validation (V&V) procedures
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a highly related STEM discipline
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience with at least 4 years directly focused on MBSE application using SysML and executing DoD/DoW-style Mission Engineering or System-of-Systems analysis
Systems Modeling Rigor: Advanced, hands-on experience utilizing Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw
Deep understanding of SysML diagrams
Proven mastery of Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), DoDAF 2.02, or similar enterprise frameworks
Familiarity with integrating MBSE environments with modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) suites such as AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling), Ansys STK (Systems Tool Kit), or MATLAB/Simulink
Expertise establishing digital threads using requirements databases like DOORS or DOORS Next Gen linked directly to the system model
Desired Qualifications
OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Certification (Model Builder - Intermediate or Advanced level).
Experience with model-based scripting and automation using Python, JavaScript, Jira, Confluence, Apache Groovy, or Apache Velocity Template Language (VTL) inside Cameo to autogenerate interface control documents (ICDs)
Prior experience supporting Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiatives, space systems, or integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) mission areas
Security Requirements
Must be a US Citizen.
Active Secret clearance is required at start
