Position Summary
Flourish Research is building a dedicated oncology recruitment marketing function and is hiring a Marketing Manager to own it end to end, reporting directly to the VP, Patient Engagement and Marketing. This role leads all oncology-specific patient recruitment marketing across two dedicated oncology sites (Valkyrie Los Angeles and Valkyrie Denver) and general medicine sites adding oncology as a new therapeutic area (starting with Ravenswood, Gainesville, and Walnut Creek).
Each site starts from a different baseline - LA runs on an established referring-oncologist network with no existing digital, testimonial, or community infrastructure; Denver is building that same physician network; and the Gen Med sites already run generic pre-launch digital ads and database building that need oncology-specific targeting layered on top. The Marketing Manager is responsible for closing the specific gap at each site while building toward one organization-wide standard: an identified, eligible patient enrolled within approximately 10 days.
Department: Patient Engagement / Marketing
Location: Hybrid - Los Angeles or West Coast preferred; approximately 20% in-office, plus periodic travel to Valkyrie LA, Valkyrie Denver, and Gen Med add-on sites
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
• Own execution of Flourish Research's oncology awareness and recruitment marketing plan for the Flourish sites.
• Develop and run the patient testimonial program end to end: sourcing, testimonial-specific consent, IRB/sponsor review coordination, production, and multi-channel distribution.
• Lead cancer-specific community-building efforts, including tumor-type-specific partnerships with advocacy organizations, survivorship programs, and infusion centers.
• Own the oncology database and CRM strategy in Salesforce - tagging by tumor type, source channel, and eligibility recency, and resolving how Salesforce and EMR data work together.
• Manage active digital patient identification campaigns for Valkyrie LA's live studies, including paid social, search, retargeting, and online pre-screen intake.
• Partner with the Gen Med add-on sites to build oncology patient rosters from existing records, introduce cancer-specific intake and health-questionnaire questions, and layer oncology targeting onto each site's already-running generic digital ads.
• Define and report on KPIs across both pre-award (community touchpoints, database growth, testimonial engagement) and post-award (cost per qualified lead, conversion rates, time from identified patient to enrollment).
• Coordinate cross-functionally with site leadership and physician champions, vendor management, marketing technology, and legal/compliance/IRB stakeholders.
• Manage agency and vendor relationships supporting oncology recruitment marketing execution.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 5-6 years of experience in healthcare marketing, patient recruitment, or clinical trial marketing.
• Background in direct-response marketing - ideally applied to oncology patient engagement - with a strong grasp of performance-driven campaign strategy brand awareness, and community development. [LC2]
• Experience with oncology or other complex therapeutic area recruitment is required.
• Working familiarity with the clinical trial regulatory environment, including IRB review and consent processes for patient-facing materials.
• Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), digital/paid media, offline media, community engagement/awareness, Advocacy groups, and testimonial or patient-story content production.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, site leadership, and executive stakeholders.
• Data-driven approach to marketing, with experience defining and tracking KPIs across multiple sites or programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Valkyrie LA, Valkyrie Denver, and the Gen Med add-on sites.
