The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $136,700.00 to $170,900.00. The range may vary if the role outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Market Supply is responsible for leading the end-to-end export supply chain function for finished goods and bulk spirits across North America. This role owns the planning, execution, documentation, compliance coordination, customer service alignment, and performance management necessary to deliver compliant, efficient, and on-time international shipments.
The Senior Manager, Market Supply serves as the primary operational leader for export supply chain activities, partnering closely with Market Supply, Customer Service, Logistics, Trade Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Finance, Operations, Warehousing, freight forwarders, third-party logistics providers, and international market customers. This role is accountable for building scalable ways of working, strengthening continuity within the export function, improving visibility to export orders and shipments, supporting drawback-related export execution, and ensuring the organization can support current business needs and future growth across export markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Supply Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the export supply chain function for finished goods and bulk spirits, ensuring clear accountability, standardized processes, and strong service delivery across international shipments.
- Establish export operations as a scalable supply chain capability that supports business growth, market expansion, drawback execution, and customer service excellence.
- Develop and maintain short-, mid-, and long-term export supply chain priorities aligned with business objectives, inventory availability, shipment timing, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Serve as the primary export supply chain leader for cross-functional issue resolution, escalation, prioritization, and decision support.
- Build continuity, succession, and knowledge-sharing practices to reduce business risk and strengthen organizational resilience.
Export Operations & Shipment Execution
- Oversee end-to-end export shipment execution for finished goods and bulk spirits, including order readiness, shipment planning, booking coordination, coordinate and align with Trade Compliance on export documentation flow, and delivery tracking.
- Ensure export shipments are planned and executed in alignment with customer requirements
- Partner with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and third-party logistics providers to ensure efficient shipment execution and proactive issue resolution.
- Monitor open export orders, shipment status, delays, and service risks; drive timely corrective actions and communication.
- Support urgent, complex, or high-value export shipments requiring cross-functional coordination, leadership visibility, or expedited decision-making.
Documentation, Compliance & Regulatory Coordination
- Partner with Trade Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Tax, Legal, Quality, and Finance to ensure export processes comply with internal standards and applicable external requirements.
- Assist in identifying documentation or compliance process gaps and lead improvements to reduce risk, rework, shipment delays, and customer disruption.
Market Supply, Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for international markets, internal Market Supply teams, Customer Service, Commercial partners, and external customers regarding export supply chain execution.
- Provide timely and transparent communication on order status, shipment timing, documentation readiness, risks, delays, and recovery plans.
- Partner with Market Supply and Demand/Supply Planning teams to align export shipment timing with inventory availability, business priorities, and fiscal landing objectives.
- Support onboarding of new export markets, customers, routes, or flows by defining operational requirements, documentation needs, service expectations, and ways of working.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve collaboration, escalation management, and customer experience.
Process Improvement, Systems & Reporting
- Develop and maintain export supply chain standard operating procedures, process maps, trackers, dashboards, and performance routines.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline order visibility, shipment tracking, communication, and handoffs between functions.
- Partner with Analytics, IT, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, automation opportunities, and Power BI visibility.
- Track and report export supply chain KPIs such as on-time shipment performance, documentation accuracy, open order aging, service risks, freight performance, issue resolution, and customer responsiveness.
- Lead root cause analysis for export service failures, documentation errors, process breakdowns, or recurring shipment delays; drive corrective and preventive actions.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop export supply chain team members responsible for export coordination, documentation, customer support, and shipment execution.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, priorities, escalation paths, and standard work across the export supply chain team.
- Build team capability in export documentation, logistics execution, customer communication, regulatory awareness, systems usage, and problem solving.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
- Support individual development planning, cross-training, succession planning, and capability building to improve team resilience and long-term performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in export operations, international logistics, customer service, supply chain planning, trade compliance coordination, or related supply chain functions.
- Experience leading export shipment execution, documentation workflows, freight forwarder coordination, customs broker interaction, or international customer support.
- Strong understanding of export documentation, Incoterms, international transportation, order management, and shipment tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, resolve complex operational issues, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience managing or developing team members, coordinators, analysts, or cross-functional resources.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data, reports, and performance metrics to identify risks and drive improvements.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, order management systems, logistics tools, Microsoft Excel, and reporting platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) with focus in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in beverage alcohol, CPG, food and beverage, regulated manufacturing, or international distribution environments.
- Experience supporting both finished goods and bulk spirits exports.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, third-party logistics providers, warehouses, and international affiliates or customers.
- Experience developing SOPs, dashboards, process maps, KPI routines, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- APICS/ASCM, Lean Six Sigma, customs, trade compliance, or international logistics certification preferred.
- Power BI, advanced Excel, Power Query, or data visualization experience preferred.
