Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Global Common Investment Platform plays a key role in driving the ongoing transformation and evolution of the Common Investment Platform (CIP) as a core investment capability within Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM).
The role provides leadership to define, govern, and coordinate the implementation of the CIP target operating model and platform roadmap. This includes ensuring that platform capabilities, workflows, and data support consistent, efficient, and scalable investment decision-making across research, portfolio management, risk, performance, and reporting.
As CIP continues to scale globally across functions and regions, this role ensures the platform evolves in a coordinated, consistent, and controlled manner bringing discipline to how decisions are made, how work is sequenced, and how outcomes are delivered.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Drive the definition and ongoing refinement of the CIP target operating model.
• Translate business priorities into a clear platform roadmap and coordinated set of initiatives.
• Lead prioritization and sequencing of initiatives to maintain platform consistency and scalability
• Provide structured oversight and governance of cross-functional platform decisions.
• Ensure alignment of workflows, data, and controls to avoid fragmentation or duplication.
• Oversee CIP initiatives supporting global regions to ensure platform alignment.
• Coordinate delivery with business, technology, and vendors to maintain sequencing and alignment.
• Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across concurrent initiatives.
• Strengthen governance over how platform changes are defined, prioritized, and introduced.
• Provide clear visibility into roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
• Ensure delivered capabilities are fit for purpose, aligned to business workflows, and support intended business objectives.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in investment management including exposure to investment systems.
• Strong understanding of the investment lifecycle across front, middle, and back-office functions.
• Experience supporting platform, operating model, or transformation initiatives across business, technology, and operations teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
• Strong judgment in balancing business priorities, platform consistency, scalability, and trade-offs.
• Ability to influence and align stakeholders in support of platform decisions and outcomes.
• Experience with investment systems (e.g., Charles River, Bloomberg, etc).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguity.
