Responsibilities

  • Support the orchestration of Treasury strategies for effective balance sheet management.
  • Develop and implement models to provide insights on Structural Interest Rate Risk and Liquidity Risk metrics.
  • Deliver advanced analytics to assess impacts on net interest income and the risk profile.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for ALCO discussions and senior management decision-making.
  • Recommend and execute hedging and positioning strategies using various Treasury instruments.
  • Ensure consistent application of Asset-Liability Management policies across International Banking locations.
  • Collaborate with local Treasury teams and other stakeholders on balance sheet management priorities and regulatory initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of technology strategy related to Balance Sheet Management analytics.

Contributes to the overall success of the Group Treasury (GT) - International Banking (IB). Provides analytical support to the International Banking Treasury team to facilitate effective governance and strategy orchestration over the International Treasuries on key topics such as Interest Rate Risk management, liquidity risk management, investments and FX hedging ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with the Bank's strategic priorities, risk appetite, and governance regulations.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Support the International Banking (IB) Balance Sheet Management (BSM) Team to manage the orchestration of Treasury strategies designed to achieve effective and proactive balance sheet management
  • Support the IB BSM Team to develop, implement and use of models and measurements to provide timely insights on Structural Interest Rate Risk (SIRR) and Liquidity Risk metrics.
  • Deliver advanced analytics and scenario analysis to assess the impact of balance sheet growth, repricing gaps and market rate movements on net interest income and the Bank's risk profile.
  • Provide timely insights and recommendations to support International Banking ALCO discussions, senior management decision-making, risk limit management, and the execution of Treasury strategies
  • Recommend and execute hedging and balance sheet positioning strategies using interest rate swaps, foreign exchange derivatives, fixed-income securities, and other Treasury instruments.
  • Support the consistent application of Asset-Liability Management and Funds Transfer Pricing policies, methodologies, and governance standards across International Banking locations.
  • Partner with local Treasury teams, Global Risk Management, Finance, Technology, and other stakeholders on balance sheet management priorities, regulatory initiatives, risk limits, and key Treasury exposures.
  • Contribute to the development of the International Banking Balance Sheet Management technology strategy, including data pipelines, analytical infrastructure, quantitative tools, and reporting capabilities.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; a graduate degree is considered an asset.
  • Strong experience in Treasury, Asset-Liability Management, balance sheet management, market risk, liquidity risk, structural interest rate risk, or a related financial discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of balance sheet risk management concepts, including net interest income simulation, repricing gap analysis, liquidity risk, investment portfolio management, and interest rate and foreign exchange hedging.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate complex balance sheet and market data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing, Cost of Funds methodologies, behavioural modelling, and the management of non-maturity deposits is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with key regulatory and risk management frameworks, including IRRBB, LCR, NSFR, and market risk requirements.
  • Experience with data analytics (Python, SQL, etc.), visualization, programming or business intelligence tools (Power BI, etc.), is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, management skills and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to influence and collaborate across Treasury, Risk and Finance
  • CFA, FRM, MBA, or another relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish is considered an Asset.
