The Role:

Reporting to the Director, Analytics and BI - Deposits & Investments within Canadian Banking, the Sr. Manager, Analytics and BI - Investments provides strategic analytical, modelling, and business intelligence support across the Canadian Investments business, including mutual funds and registered and non-registered plan products. The role delivers fact-based recommendations and strategic insights that support profitable customer growth, engagement, margin optimization, channel effectiveness, and stronger decision-making through modelling, forecasting, segmentation, and performance measurement. The incumbent requires strong financial and business acumen, a demonstrated passion for financial services, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners while building collaborative, results-driven teams.

The incumbent will identify opportunities and recommend solutions that strengthen customer growth, engagement, profitability, pricing effectiveness, and overall business performance. The role will also support executive and external stakeholder materials, including analyst presentations, quarterly analyst call preparation, and board strategy materials.

The Sr. Manager, Analytics and BI - Investments will work closely with the Investments business and key partner teams to develop business cases, campaign measurement, portfolio analytics, standardized reporting, and BI solutions. This role requires a dynamic and engaging leader who can provide strategic insight and actionable recommendations on both regular and ad-hoc requests while sustaining a motivated, high-performing, and team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic analytics and business intelligence support to the Retail Investments team by helping business partners grow the customer base, optimize product mix, improve customer primacy, and identify opportunities across acquisition, retention, balance growth, cross-sell, up-sell, product activation, usage, and client-level pricing.
  • Partner with Investments, Marketing, Campaign Design, Customer Decisioning, Product, Pricing Optimization, Finance, Treasury, Advanced Analytics, and channel teams to shape initiatives, develop segmentation strategies, size opportunities, build business cases, and recommend actions that balance customer experience, revenue growth, budget efficiency, margin optimization, and overall P&L impact.
  • Provide strategic support for campaign initiatives by evaluating new ideas, developing pro-forma assumptions, supporting go/no-go recommendations, measuring performance against plan, and applying learnings to improve future targeting, engagement, acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Lead portfolio, pricing, targeting, and performance analytics using advanced analytical methods to identify trends, key statistics, risks, opportunities, and profit drivers across the Investment portfolio.
  • Lead the development, validation, interpretation, and application of analytical models, including customer segmentation, propensity, forecasting, profitability, balance growth, pricing sensitivity, campaign response, and scenario models, to quantify opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and support strategic investment business decisions.
  • Lead the standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of recurring reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance measurement frameworks, using Power BI and other BI tools to improve consistency, scalability, self-serve access, and senior management decision-making.
  • Communicate strategic and operational results clearly and in a timely manner, translating complex analytical findings into recommendations, outlooks, projections, and senior-management-ready insights.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple business initiatives, projects, ad-hoc analyses, and stakeholder requests while building trusted relationships with internal partners and external consultants.
  • Proactively acquire and apply knowledge of business and product strategies, competitive practices, market insights, policies, technical processes, emerging tools, and analytical methodologies to recommend practical solutions and improve team effectiveness.
  • Drive adoption of modern analytics platforms, cloud capabilities, reporting migration, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting quality, scalability, and speed of delivery.
  • Lead practical AI adoption across analytics and BI processes to improve the speed, quality, consistency, and scalability of insight generation while promoting responsible use, knowledge sharing, and measurable business impact.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand and apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline; MBA, CFA, FRM, or master's degree in Analytics is preferred.
  • Extensive analytics, business intelligence, and decision-support experience within financial services, with strong business and financial acumen and a solid understanding of portfolio optimization, P&L levers, profit drivers, KPIs, growth initiatives, and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic analytical support across partner functions, including campaign, product, pricing, finance, customer growth, sales channel, and investment business teams, to shape strategy, size opportunities, evaluate outcomes, and recommend practical actions.
  • Strong business intelligence skills, including the ability to design and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance measurement frameworks for senior leadership and business decision-making.
  • Proficiency with analytical and BI tools and platforms, including cloud computing, BigQuery, SQL, Python, R, SAS, Excel, Power BI, and equivalent reporting tools.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing, validating, interpreting, and explaining analytical models using SQL, Python, R, SAS, or similar tools, with the ability to translate model outputs into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to extract, interpret, and translate complex data into meaningful, actionable business insights quickly, accurately, and effectively.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate business needs, identify emerging risks and opportunities, challenge existing approaches, and recommend practical solutions that improve business outcomes and team effectiveness.
  • Strong commitment to adopting new tools, technologies, automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, reporting consistency, and timeliness of analytics and BI delivery.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify, evaluate, and apply practical AI use cases within analytics and BI workflows to accelerate insight generation, automate repeatable tasks, and support responsible adoption across teams.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business partners, senior stakeholders, and broad audiences.
  • Strong prioritization, planning, project management, relationship-building, and people leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests, lead analytics and BI teams, and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
