Description

OVERVIEW:

This position operates machining equipment to produce production and prototype components. Primary functions include, but are not limited to, operating machines, machine programming, completing production paperwork, measuring/inspection, troubleshooting. This position requires an employee who can operate independently with little to no assistance for completing daily tasks. This person will be required to think critically, learn new concepts/ideas quickly and have a willingness to try new things. A passion for creating high precision parts with creativity and professionalism is required.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for supporting the production or engineering demand for machined and fabricated parts.
  • Creates prototype parts from engineering blueprints including programming, tooling selection and fixturing.
  • Develops and edits CNC programs while following a standard process for maintaining the programs.
  • Modifies/grinds tooling to achieve targeted geometry and reduce lead times.
  • Supports the demands of R&D and engineering in a scheduled fashion.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set-up requirements.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Maintains all safety and cleanliness policies and procedures.
  • Verifies conformance of finished parts or assemblies to specifications or design requirements.
  • Installs machine replacement parts in mechanisms, machines and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Confers with engineers or machinists to resolve machining problems.
  • Mentors' other machinists

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Troubleshooting of Machining Equipment and non-conforming components
  • Experience and knowledge of various types of metrology
  • Prior work in a production environment
  • Must be adaptable to frequent schedule and priority changes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
  • 12+ years of experience in machining in a production and prototype environment, blended
  • 5+ years of experience programming and creating prototypes using Swiss CNC screw machines
  • 5+ years of experience performing general CNC programming; PartMaker preferred
  • SPDT/Diffsys experience preferred
  • Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system
  • The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • This job does not require certification, licensing, or registrations aside from the training and certification provided by RxSight.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Baseline skills with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), online spreadsheets (Smartsheet)
  • CNC Programming: PartMaker, Diffsys, or equivalent

Salary Description

$38.00/hour to $45.00/hour
