Description

Position Summary: Leads and facilitate quality, process and performance improvement activities using advanced problem-solving methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to drive Business Excellence. Assist in teaching, coaching and mentoring continuous improvement tools and methodologies across the organization. Employs Lean Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational business and operations in order to accomplish business objectives. While owning the improvement project(s) the Lean Practitioner works with other professionals in the planning, designing, and accomplishing of key projects and objectives.

While the Lean Practitioner does not have supervisory responsibility over the entire project team members, this person will have to work with and influence many others in the organization to succeed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
  • Lead and manage Lean Six Sigma initiatives to accomplish measurable business process improvements.
  • Collect and use data, statistics, and a structured approach to drive decisions.
  • Teach, coach, and install best practices throughout organization.
  • Teach and coach appropriate continuous improvement tools and methodologies across the organization.
  • Energize, coach, facilitate, and otherwise motivate cross functional teams, while fostering an environment of trust, collaboration, teamwork and result orientation.
  • Assist leaders and managers with project prioritization and initiation.
  • Implement knowledge gained to identify opportunities and drive process improvements within departments and across the organization.
  • Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others as well as projects, ranging from small improvement tasks up to cross functional projects. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Share best practices among other departments and sites.
  • Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Drive assigned projects as outcome responsible individual, supporting the project team from the respective functional area(s) and accomplishing the set targets.


Requirements

Education/Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree (BS or BBA) is required
  • Lean Black Belt (or comparable) certification from a recognized organization or a Lean Black Belt certification from a recognized organization with 10+ years of experience in Lean Six Sigma project environment. (Certifications from online training institutions are not accepted.)
  • Demonstrate experience with a Lean Business System, that is based on Toyota Lean.
  • Demonstrate experience with the financial impact driven improvement selection and execution.
  • Demonstrated detail knowledge with Lean and continuous improvement impacting the company's financial performance.
  • Ability to read interpret, analyze documents such as regulations, manuals, policies, procedures, databases and presentations.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence at a high level.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Must have excellent internal and external communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Visio, Excel and/or Minitab.
  • Must have good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Must have working knowledge in MS Project, SAP, and PLM applications.
