Senior Java Developer

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java backend experience, particularly in designing and building REST APIs.
• Experience in defining project architecture from scratch, including service boundaries and deployment strategies.
• Proven ability to build and organize an engineering team, including defining roles and onboarding processes.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to both stakeholders and engineers.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with Agile delivery tracking using Jira.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Define the target architecture for new Java services, including service boundaries and data storage.
• Build and shape the engineering team, including hiring and onboarding.
• Design and implement core REST APIs, leading by example with hands-on coding.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Establish a reliable delivery pipeline for code deployment to GKE.
• Act as the main technical contact for client stakeholders, translating business needs into technical plans.
