As the Senior Group Underwriting Best Practice Analyst, you will be responsible for leading and executing initiatives with a strong focus on documentation, processes, tools, and training & development. That will require research, monitoring, and resolving/aligning market differences and gaps.
You will play a key role in improving efficiency within Group Underwriting tools and processes, while supporting growth and persistency strategies.
What You Will Do- Support the Group Underwriting leadership team by aligning processes and tools, including (but not limited to): Online GUM, Access, Renewal Template Quote Template, Manual Rates Calculator, Case Initiative Identifier, Execution of the Group Underwriting Best Practice roadmap
- Lead and implement best practice initiatives within the Underwriting team
- Design and facilitate a training curriculum to support underwriters from entry level to experienced roles
- Conduct quality reviews of complex underwriting cases and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Release the monthly Underwriting Bulletin when the Best Practice Analyst is unavailable
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for underwriting tools
- Act as a liaison with internal partners (e.g., EIS, Finance, IT) and lead or contribute to mini projects as required
- Provide guidance and support to the Group Underwriting Best Practice Analyst, as needed
What You Need To Succeed- Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus in Business Administration, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Group Underwriting experience, including exposure to various funding arrangements
- Demonstrated understanding of customer needs and underwriting processes, with a solid awareness of related business areas
- Broad understanding of how internal and external processes operate at Medavie Blue Cross
- Strong underwriting and business acumen, with the ability to: Identify root causes of issues, evaluate alternative solutions and make sound, practical recommendations

Salary range: $91,831.00- $110,197.00 (CAD)

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs.
