We are seeking a motivated Senior Firmware Engineer to join our mission-based R&D team focused on power electronics, protection, control, and conversion of AC, DC, and hybrid systems. We pioneer technologies, incubate new markets, and influence industry standards by conceiving and developing products and systems, and delivering industry certified solutions. Responsibilities:
• Specify, design and develop firmware for solid-state circuit breakers, hybrid protection systems, Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS), and advanced power conversion products.
• Own the product development lifecycle from concept and architecture through requirements, design documentation, implementation, validation, certification, and commercialization
• Design and implement firmware for protection, sensing, fault detection, interruption, current limiting, communication, and control functions using simulation and modeling
• Develop and implement algorithms for analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics designs with emphasis on reliability, validation, manufacturability, and EMC performance.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and certification teams while contributing to innovation: intellectual property, technical publications, and standards activities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 5+ years of experience in firmware or software product development; Master's preferred
• Proven experience taking products from innovation through commercialization in regulated or safety-critical markets
• Strong proficiency in C or C++ programming for microcontroller-based and real-time embedded software architectures and systems
• Experience developing software configuration management and formal change control processes with experience creating and maintaining software requirements, architecture documents, detailed designs, and traceability artifacts.
• Experience with embedded development and debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and version control systems such as Git, SVN, or equivalent.
• Experience with real-time control systems, hardware interfaces, and communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, and CAN
• Preferred experience developing software to be MISRA compliant or certification with UL 1998 especially in the development of protection systems and/or power electronic devices
• Ability to travel up to 10-15%

For this U.S. based position, the expected total pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
