What you can expect as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst:
- Prepare accurate and timely regulatory filings, financial data calls, and related submissions required by the NAIC and state departments of insurance.
- Coordinate reporting requirements, source data, supporting schedules, and submission deadlines for assigned regulatory deliverables.
- Research filing instructions, definitions, and reporting changes; document conclusions and communicate reporting impacts to stakeholders.
- Prepare consolidated GAAP financial statements, including applicable topside tax-to-GAAP, statutory-to-GAAP, intercompany, elimination, and consolidating adjustments.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc financial and operational reporting deliverables for Executive Management and departments.
- Lead assigned reporting deliverables from planning through completion, manage competing priorities, communicate status and risks, and escalate issues requiring management attention.
- Train and provide technical guidance to Financial Reporting staff, serve as the first level of review for assigned work products, and provide timely feedback to support accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established reporting procedures.
- Maintain the Financial Reporting team's standard operating procedures, reporting calendars, checklists, templates, data dictionaries, and related process documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen accuracy, timeliness, standardization, data traceability, and internal controls.
- Analyze business process, product, accounting, regulatory, and system changes to determine reporting impacts and ensure affected reports and procedures are updated and tested.
- Partner with Financial Systems & Reporting Assurance and other stakeholders on report development, data validation, user acceptance testing, and remediation of reporting issues.
- Complete special projects, ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other day-to-day responsibilities as assigned.
What we are looking for as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst:
- BS or MS in Accounting or Finance
- 3 - 5 years of prior related experience.
- Enterprise and accounting information systems experience preferred
- Some insurance industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills and a self-starter attitude necessary.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively on tasks with competing priority.
- Experience working in dynamic and team environment
- Fast learner with Interpersonal skills to develop relationship between the business and the system to enhance the appropriate flow of information.
