Full Job Description
Job Description:

Senior Financial Analyst - Jonas Software

Job Description:

Our business is one in which building relationships and working with others on the team are critical. The position requires a skilled verbal and written communicator with the confidence and polish to speak with senior executives, accountants, and colleagues. You are driven to perform, results-oriented and willing to do what it takes. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are an enthusiastic energetic self-starter with a strong sense of customer focus. You are extremely organized and do not let details slip through the cracks. You are a strong listener and collaborative individual, who likes to put forward suggestions and ideas on how to improve the status quo, with a strong focus on process management. You are an owner rather than a preparer, and you are comfortable being accountable for a set of numbers end to end. You are comfortable with a dynamic financial reporting and compliance calendar while remaining responsive to the operational priorities of the business units you support. You understand that finance runs on a cycle, and that a growing portfolio brings periods of higher intensity alongside quieter stretches. You are interested in how technology and AI are changing the finance function and look for opportunities to apply them.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an important member of our Finance team you will support finance results and operations for a growing portfolio of software companies, working directly with the business leaders you support. This role carries the opportunity to grow into a finance management position over time.

Financial reporting and control
• Responsible for monthly financial accounting, including journal entries, accruals and financial analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results for Business Units including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and provide financial oversight over key areas such as deferred revenue, contract assets, prepaids, accrued liabilities and other accounts
• Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and note disclosures
• Apply the IFRS 15 accounting standard to new customer contracts to assess correct financial reporting treatment, escalating where contract terms and existing policy do not align
• Support internal and external audit requests and help maintain a strong internal control environment

FP&A and Strategic Finance
• Support the quarterly forecast process by partnering with Business Unit leadership
• Analyze actual results against forecast to identify areas of strength and weakness, using KPI and non-financial data alongside the financial results
• Conduct financial analysis of product lines and support profitability analysis across the portfolio
• Liaise with the various Business Unit leaders, balancing operational priorities against reporting and compliance deadlines
• Support improvement of working capital management across your businesses

People, process, systems and technology
• Continuously improve procedures and develop reports to drive insight and accountability, including the use of automation and AI tooling
• Support the integration of newly acquired businesses onto our finance systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the corporate standard
• Mentor and coach junior colleagues on best financial practices
• Provide support post acquisition to the business during financial integration, as required
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• CPA designation
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including audit experience at a Big 4 or national firm
• Strong fundamental accounting and audit knowledge with a good grasp of IFRS reporting standards, including IFRS 15 in a complex multi-deliverable environment
• Experience supporting internal and external audit processes
• Experience operating in a multi-entity environment
• Demonstrated ownership of a process, entity or reporting cycle end to end
• Demonstrated experience improving or automating finance processes, including the use of Large Language Models and Artificial Intelligence tools from frontier labs
• Sound understanding of contracting terms and conditions, and the assessment of commercial risk and its implications on accounting treatment
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data interrogation
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with strong time management and the ability to set priorities, adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience working collaboratively in cross functional teams
• Ambition to progress into a finance management role, and the self-awareness to articulate what you would need to develop to get there
