As a key member of the Management team, the Senior Finance Manager will report to the NA Finance Director and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the business unit. The Senior Finance Manager will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the business unit. This will include direct responsibility for finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and site related accounting functions.
Key Job Tasks:
Strategy - As a true business partner to the Site Director, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and the business unit's long-term strategy.
- Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Site Director and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
- Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors).
Executive Management- Serve as a member of site leadership team.
- Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
Financial Planning and Analysis - Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast by division (vs. budget).
- Complete analysis of financial results and develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
- Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g., opening new operations, asset acquisition, new service launches).
- Develop and maintain capital budget.
- Assist in development of financial planning and analysis exercises/reports.
- Participate in calls with Division and Corporate Management.
Finance- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee cash, and asset management.
- Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
Planning- Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
Team Management - Manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
Cash Management- Oversee weekly cash management and approve weekly payables.
- Oversee AR management and provide support to collections activities.
Risk Management- Monitor all open legal issues involving the business unit/industry
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance with C.P.A and/or M.B.A is required. At least ten years of experience in financial management within a manufacturing facility with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning. Cost accounting experience is highly recommended. Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
