Bachelor's Degree in Marine or Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal & OSHA regulations
Proficient in project scheduling and cost control
Capacity to interpret project owner specifications and engineering drawings
Familiar with CAD and relevant software including Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong teamwork and individual work skills
Excellent organizational skills for planning and monitoring projects
Prior field experience in the construction industry is preferred
Responsibilities
Collaborate within a diverse team on heavy marine and/or civil construction projects
Assist in both administrative and construction tasks as directed; including project plans review, material takeoffs, and cost estimates
Perform work and supervise subcontractors while ensuring clear communication with vendors
Identify and define project responsibilities and phases
Plan and sequence project stages, calculating timeframes for completion
Prepare work plans, ensure quality control, manage costs and materials, and administer safety programs
Track labor and costs through coding of purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and other expenditures
Maintain adherence to company policies and safety/environmental protocols
Manage submittals & RFI's and document claims resolutions as needed

Full Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build heavy marine and/or civil construction
Support both administrative and construction activities as assigned by supervisor; review project plans and proposals, specifications & drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates, write work plans, and ensure that field work is done in accordance with drawings & specifications
Self-perform work and supervise subcontractors as well as clearly communicate with vendors
Identify project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project
Calculate time frames and sequences the stages of the project
Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials, schedule equipment, administer safety programs, and maintain exceptional owner relations
Code daily labor, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, costs, quantities, actual expenditures, etc. for tracking in cost system
Adhere to company policy/procedures as well as safety and environmental policies
Prepare and manage submittals & RFI's and maintain all documentation to support the company's position for claims resolution
Other duties as required by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college/university in Marine or Ocean Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Knowledge of construction safety as well as current Federal & OSHA requirements
Broad knowledge of and ability to understand project scheduling and cost control
Ability to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
Familiarity with CAD, PC software packages typically associated with engineering (i.e. Scheduling software), Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to work well individually and in a group environment, fostering a team approach
Organizational ability - able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects
Prior Field experience in the construction industry preferred
Availability and willingness to work weekends and night shifts per business needs
