Based in our Laval office and reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will support WSP's national Energy, Resources and Industry Project Controls team as a bilingual Senior Estimator. You will bring strategic cost insight to complex industrial, mining, oil and gas, and power generation projects-from conceptual and feasibility studies through detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, closure, and decommissioning within an engineering, procurement and construction management environment.
YOUR IMPACT- Lead the development and refinement of estimating models that strengthen cost certainty and informed decision-making across complex projects.
- Deliver detailed capital expenditure, operating expenditure, owner-cost, and construction estimates supported by clear, auditable bases of estimate.
- Assess scope changes, contractor claims, delays, risks, and material requirements to provide timely recommendations and protect project outcomes.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to resolve estimate assumptions, contract changes, and claims.
- Drive value through design and specification reviews, benchmarking, and practical alternatives that improve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Strengthen estimating capability by mentoring junior estimators and sharing consistent tools, methods, and professional judgement.
THE SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART- Extensive project estimating experience on complex industrial, mining, oil and gas, power generation, or comparable capital projects.
- Advanced ability to develop CAPEX, OPEX, owner-cost, and construction estimates and document assumptions, exclusions, risk factors, and estimate methodology.
- Strong analytical and quantitative capability, including advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and practical use of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Experience reviewing engineering data, scopes, specifications, change requests, contractor claims, and benchmark information for completeness and cost impact.
- Knowledge of ACCE (K-Base) and/or InEight Estimate (Hard Dollar) is an asset.
- Professional fluency in English and French, supporting frequent collaboration with clients and partners in Quebec and outside the province.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, tight deadlines, ambiguity, and evolving scopes while maintaining accurate, high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, support negotiations, communicate complex cost information clearly, and mentor developing estimators.
COMPENSATION- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800
- MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 - $147,400
