Full Job Description
Senior Estimator

As a Senior Estimator, you will be a vital member of Murphy's preconstruction team, the get work gurus. You will help build our company's portfolio by utilizing your attention to detail and time management skills to produce timely, accurate, and thorough estimates for projects throughout Colorado and Wyoming. We are looking for you to be a part of our get work initiative by estimating plumbing, sheet metal, mechanical, hydronic, and process piping systems.

We Are Looking For Someone Like You
  • 10 plus years Estimator experience in Plumbing, HVAC and Process Piping of Institutional, Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Brewery, Healthcare, and Industrial related projects.
  • Responsible for leading all estimates up to $20M, compiling accurate bid documents - including take-off and summary of all materials, fixtures, and equipment, along with evaluation of labor, material, and equipment costs. Experience managing multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • The individual should possess Process Piping expertise relating to plan layouts, schematics, P & IDs, and specifications. Plumbing, HVAC and Sheet metal knowledge a plus.
  • This individual will solicit and evaluate, with assistance from the Purchasing Department, multiple subcontractor and equipment quotes, understand construction field conditions, and prepare schedules encompassing this information.
  • Skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Ability to accurately compile a summary of materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Understand construction field conditions, means and methods, and project schedules.
  • Quickpen / Autobid software experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will be responsible for soliciting, evaluating, and preparing bid proposals in the most attractive manner to general contractors and owners.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year

Murphy USA is an American corporation based in El Dorado, Arkansas operating a chain of retail gas stations that are primarily located in proximity to Walmart stores. It was founded as a spin-off of Murphy Oil in 2013. In 2018, it was ranked 279 on the Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by revenue. Murphy USA also has 240 Murphy Express branded stores, which are located independently. Murphy Express sites are typically large-format facilities that offer a larger array of products and more fueling lanes than the original format.
