Job OverviewThe Senior Environmental Health and Safety Professional is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. This position provides direction, guidance, and technical expertise to promote safe work practices and reduce risk. The Senior EHS Professional supports site leadership by conducting audits, reviewing incident trends, and recommending corrective actions to prevent accidents and improve performance.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties:- Manages safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote occupational safety and prevent workplace accidents.
- Analyzes safety metrics to evaluate and track program performance, identifies trends, and ensures operational alignment with safety objectives.
- Implements processes and standards to inspect and audit the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements.
- Oversees incident investigations completed by safety personnel to ensure appropriate identification of root causes, development of preventative measures, and preparation of safety reports.
- Oversees and supports implementation of safety training programs at job sites.
- Participates in contract transitions to ensure safety programs are implemented appropriately.
- Ensures compliance with all regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations pertaining to safety.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of OSHA standards, and familiarity with military safety standards such as EM 385.
- Works across teams such as Risk, HR, and others to ensure a collaborative environment when implementing and maintaining safety programs.
Job RequirementsMandatory:- Secret Security Clearance.
- Six to eight (6-8) years experience in environmental field.
