Job Description

The position will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, overseeing the planning, evaluation, and design review of complex wastewater treatment and collection system projects.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with municipal and private-sector clients to understand project objectives, provide expert guidance, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions.
This position is responsible for leading multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating work across internal and external stakeholders.
Key duties include reviewing engineering designs and technical reports, managing project schedules and deliverables, and facilitating clear, proactive communication with clients throughout all phases of project execution.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in wastewater systems, proven leadership abilities, and the interpersonal skills needed to build lasting client relationships.

Skills & Abilities

Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design.
Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
12 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

10% or less
Driving Requirements

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
Pay Range Min

USD $126,734.00
Pay Range Max

USD $221,790.00
Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
