The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the Federal Fuels Market Sector. This role involves assisting with electrical design, inspection, and planning services for industrial and fuel-related infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles. This role involves providing expert-level technical guidance, ensuring that designs meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. The Senior Electrical Engineer oversees the technical development of projects, mentoring junior staff, and serving as a subject matter expert in the field.
Responsibilities
- Designing electrical and controls for new and existing fuel systems, as well as controls, e.g., PLC, pumps, motor-operated valves, instrumentation, etc
- Design electrical systems for federal buildings, upgrade power distribution networks, and ensure compliance with safety codes and environmental regulations
- Lead the development of engineering designs for complex projects, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, reviewing drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure that designs are feasible, accurate, and compliant
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering systems into architectural or construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination with other design disciplines
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional development within the team
- Conduct quality control reviews at key project stages, ensuring that all deliverables meet internal and client standards for accuracy and technical precision
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing expert technical input and ensuring that client expectations are met
- Oversee construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving technical issues during construction
Qualifications
Required
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 7 - 10 years of experience in engineering design and project management
Preferred
- Experience leading large or complex engineering projects
- Deep understanding of DOD, federal design standards, and processes
