Full Job Description
Halliburton's Legal Department is seeking an experienced Senior eDiscovery Specialist to join their Discovery Management Group and coordinate eDiscovery matters across our global operations. This role provides hands-on technical and consultative leadership throughout the full eDiscovery lifecycle, from data identification and collection through processing, review, and production. The ideal candidate combines hands-on expertise with industry-leading eDiscovery platforms, such as Exterro Review and/or Relativity and a collaborative, service-oriented approach to supporting geographically diverse case teams. This is a high-impact position for a professional committed to team building, relationship-building, and strategic consulting at every stage of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage eDiscovery matters across multiple locations, ensuring consistent processes and high-quality outcomes company-wide.
  • Oversee database management and coordinate workflow for case teams operating in geographically diverse locations.
  • Provide hands-on technical and consultative involvement throughout the full eDiscovery lifecycle.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in eDiscovery, including data collection, review-set creation, and end-to-end workflow management.
  • Apply expertise in additional eDiscovery platforms such as Exterro Review and/or Relativity, including data processing, complex data format management, and resolution of critical technical issues.
  • Manage the legal hold process end to end, including issuing, tracking, and releasing litigation hold notices and ensuring defensible preservation of relevant data withing the Exterro Legal Hold platform.
  • Partner with Corporate IT to architect early case assessment (ECA) workflows and implement best practices for data collection.
  • Develop and maintain discovery best-practice documentation and standardized procedures.
  • Lead training programs for internal and external stakeholders on eDiscovery technologies and workflows.
  • Oversee project timelines and manage competing priorities across concurrent matters.
  • Provide strategic consulting and mentorship to in-house attorneys, paralegals, and support staff throughout every stage of the EDRM.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional eDiscovery experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the complete EDRM lifecycle: data identification, collection, ECA, processing (EDD), review and analytics, production, and trial presentation.
  • Hands-on proficiency with eDiscovery tools, including data collection and creation of review sets.
  • Proven ability to coordinate database management and workflow for case teams across multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
  • Strong consultative and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for legal and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience developing best-practice documentation and delivering training to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to oversee timelines across multiple concurrent matters.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience spanning all three eDiscovery sectors: legal service providers, law firms, and software consulting.
  • Experience with a range of eDiscovery and review platforms beyond Exterro (e.g., Relativity, Reveal/Brainspace, Concordance, or comparable tools).
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS), Relativity Certified Administrator, or comparable credentials).
  • Prior experience partnering with corporate IT functions to architect ECA workflows and data-collection strategies.
  • 10 plus years of eDiscovery experience.
