Full Job Description
Within the Capital Markets & Balance Sheet Management group, the Senior Director, Treasury Capital Markets and Strategic Modeling is responsible for leading Treasury's enterprise capital allocation analytics, strategic financial modeling, and decision-support capabilities to inform and optimize liquidity, capital structure, and long-term enterprise value creation. This role will combine Treasury, Capital Markets, and Insurance experience with advanced modeling capabilities to evaluate enterprise liquidity, capital structure, capital requirements, and long-term strategic growth opportunities.

The Senior Director will be expected to translate complex business questions into actionable financial analysis, executive-level recommendations, and scalable modeling frameworks that improve decision quality across Treasury and Finance. The role will partner closely with senior leadership, business segment finance teams, corporate functions, external financial institutions, and other key stakeholders to support capital planning, liquidity management, capital optimization, strategic transaction analysis, and modernization of Treasury's financial modeling infrastructure.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design sophisticated financial models that translate complex business questions into executive decision support, strategic recommendations, and clear financial implications for senior and executive leadership
  • Develop and maintain capital allocation models that optimize enterprise liquidity, capital requirements, debt capacity, shareholder distributions, and long-term growth while balancing financial risk, regulatory requirements, and capital structure priorities
  • Build robust scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate strategic alternatives under varying macroeconomic conditions, market environments, regulatory assumptions, operating performance scenarios, and business planning assumptions
  • Establish standardized modeling frameworks, methodologies, documentation, and governance practices that improve consistency, transparency, scalability, and decision quality across Treasury
  • Evaluate and modernize legacy Treasury models and processes by redesigning model architecture, improving the flow of financial information, automating manual activities, and leveraging enterprise data and AI capabilities to increase efficiency, scalability, and analytical rigor
  • Partner across Finance, business segments, Corporate Development, Accounting, Actuarial, Tax, Legal, and other functions to streamline the flow of financial and operational information into Treasury models, reduce manual processes, improve data quality, and strengthen cross-functional alignment
  • Evaluate and apply AI, predictive analytics, and large language models, including enterprise AI platforms, Claude, GPT, and similar tools, to enhance financial modeling, research, analysis, documentation, and Treasury decision-making
  • Support the debt financing process and broader capital markets strategy through analysis of senior unsecured notes, commercial paper, bank loans, credit facilities, structured financing alternatives, and other funding solutions used to meet short-term and long-term liquidity needs
  • Manage, develop, and train individual contributors on the team, with a focus on strengthening modeling discipline, analytical judgment, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations
  • Present analyses, scenario assessments, and strategic recommendations to Treasury leadership, executive management, and other senior stakeholders to support enterprise financial decision-making

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Treasury, Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Insurance Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, or related analytical field
  • Demonstrated expertise building, maintaining, and explaining complex financial models used for executive decision support, capital allocation, liquidity planning, capital structure analysis, or strategic financial planning
  • Proven solid understanding of Treasury and Capital Markets activities, including debt financing, liquidity management, capital structure, credit facilities, commercial paper, shareholder distributions, and risk management
  • Advanced or expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to structure complex models and present conclusions clearly to senior and executive leadership
  • Proven solid critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex financial situations, identify key drivers, and recommend practical actions
  • Proven excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into concise, executive-ready messaging
  • Demonstrated diligence, accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across Finance, business segments, and corporate functions to improve data flows, analytical processes, and decision-making quality


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, CTP, FSA, ASA, or other relevant professional certification
  • Experience with capital planning, liquidity forecasting, debt capacity analysis, capital allocation, shareholder distribution analysis, capital forecasting, or long-range financial planning
  • Experience modernizing financial models, automating manual processes, improving model governance, or redesigning legacy financial planning tools
  • Experience with AI, predictive analytics, large language models, enterprise data platforms, or automation tools used to improve financial modeling, analysis, research, documentation, or workflow efficiency
  • Experience with Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, Alteryx, Power BI, Python, SQL, or other analytical, market data, business intelligence, or automation platforms
  • Formal or informal experience managing, training, and developing individual contributors on analytical, modeling, Treasury, or Finance teams
  • Highly initiative-taking, intellectually curious, and achievement-focused professional with a solid orientation toward process improvement, analytical excellence, and scalable decision support

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $159,300 to $273,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
