Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Director, EPC Programsto join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the VP of the Customer Installations Group and will be based in San Jose CA, this is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and select Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners globally to support both current and future needs of Bloom Energy's installation business.
  • Develop and implement a global EPC strategy focused on supporting Bloom's expansion in Europe and Asia.
  • Negotiate costs, scope, operational performance, and terms and conditions with EPC partners on an ongoing basis.
  • Introduce and maintain cost reduction tracking methodologies, and integrate feedback from design, construction, and product teams to continually enhance installation cost efficiency and quality.
  • Cultivate partnership relationships with EPCs and pursue new business opportunities for Bloom Energy through partner sales channels.
  • Provide strong management of the Customer Installations Group (CIG) supply base to ensure business objectives related to schedule, cost, flexibility, and technology are achieved or exceeded.
  • Establish and communicate design, safety, and quality requirements to EPC suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Support CIG installation schedules with adequate capacity and timely acceptances.
  • Work closely with CIG leadership to identify and implement further actions that provide competitive advantages for Bloom Energy.
  • Lead the EPC program to drive operational efficiencies, shifting the team's focus from lower-value tasks to higher-value activities such as implementing new installation technologies.
  • Continuously refine Bloom's external contracting methods and terms to meet evolving business needs.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; engineering background is essential.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement or contracts, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record in managing EPCs and General Contractors (GCs), ideally in the energy sector.
  • Technical expertise to identify and qualify multiple EPC partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate international construction projects.
  • Extensive negotiation experience with a strong ability to achieve cost targets.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and legal contracting skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization and with suppliers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with cross functional teams
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and possessing a strong work ethic.
  • Organizational leadership skills, with a results-oriented approach and the ability to communicate effectively within the team.
