Job Description

Senior Director, AI Product Management

What's the opportunity?

We're looking for a product leader who can turn a strategic product vision into shipped reality at scale. As Senior Director, AI Product Management, you will own user-focused product success for RBC's internal Agentic AI platform, defining the product vision and translating it into a tangible roadmap, community, and ecosystem. You will build discipline around ensuring relentless customer focus and a business-strategy lens on what we build and why. You will lead a team of Product Managers and own Voice of the Customer, feature prioritization, adoption and community building around the product across RBC.

You will be expected to set the operating rhythm, make the hard tradeoff and resourcing calls, and hold a quality bar - bringing the credibility that comes from having built and shipped AI products at scale, not just managed roadmaps.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Team leadership: Leading and developing Director-level leads (across Product Strategy & Roadmap, Community & Adoption, Ecosystem & Partnerships) and the teams beneath them, with clear career paths and succession
  • Integrated delivery: Owning a single execution plan that aligns roadmap delivery, community programs, and partnership milestones to one cadence
  • Operating cadence: Establishing and running sprint reviews, quarterly planning, and OKR setting and tracking
  • Tradeoff and escalation ownership: Serving as the primary escalation point for cross-pillar dependencies, tradeoffs, and resourcing decisions
  • Product quality: Maintaining acceptance criteria, release gates, and documentation standards across the squad
  • Adoption and outcomes: Using analytics, telemetry, and adoption measurement to drive decisions and report progress, risks, and resource needs
  • Ecosystem health: Ensuring the community and partnership programs sustain engagement and healthy adoption across the RBC user base

You're our ideal candidate if you:
  • Have 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading multi-team product organizations as a manager of managers
  • Have a track record of customer discovery and translating user needs into product strategy and prioritization
  • Have hands-on experience delivering end-user facing AI products - ideally generative or agentic AI - at production scale
  • Have run large-scale internal or enterprise product launches with measurable adoption outcomes
  • Bring strong operational discipline: agile delivery, OKR frameworks, and release management
  • Are data-driven, comfortable with analytics, telemetry, and adoption metrics as the basis for product decisions
  • Have financial services experience, or the ability to rapidly develop it - understanding how banking employees work and the regulatory constraints on internal tooling
  • Have a working knowledge of LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, or RAG architecture - sufficient to shape product decisions and engage technical teams

Nice to have:
  • MBA or Master's in a technical or business discipline
  • Product management certification (CSPO, SAFe, AIPM, or Pragmatic Institute)
  • Background in platform engineering or developer experience teams
  • Experience in a major bank's technology or digital transformation function

What's in it for you:
  • Drive AI transformation at one of Canada's largest and most respected financial institutions, with exposure to senior leadership across RBC
  • Be part of a newly formed, high-impact function within RBC's AI Group alongside experienced transformation leaders
  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock options where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact from a local-to-global scale

About the AI Group:
