JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Campaign & Journey Automation Developer designs, builds, and optimizes complex audiences, campaigns, and customer journeys within Adobe Experience Platform, including Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Adobe Campaign Orchestration (ACO), and Federated Audience Composition (FAC). This role translates business and marketing requirements into scalable technical solutions, owns implementation decisions, and provides technical leadership throughout sprint delivery. The Senior Developer partners with Marketing Data Operations, Direct Marketing, Data Science, and Scrum teams to resolve dependencies, mitigate delivery risks, and deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring less experienced developers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business-First Solution Execution
    • Translate marketing and customer requirements into scalable campaign and journey solutions.
    • Make implementation decisions that balance business needs, scalability, performance, maintainability, and technical risk.
    • Identify technical and delivery risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Audience Creation & Campaign Development
    • Design and build complex, reusable audiences aligned with targeting, personalization, and measurement objectives.
    • Apply strong knowledge of datasets, schemas, data relationships, and identity resolution to ensure audience accuracy.
    • Partner with Direct Marketing to refine audience logic, targeting rules, and measurement frameworks.
    • Build and maintain scalable, multi-channel campaigns and customer journeys.
    • Troubleshoot complex data, identity, and execution issues.
    • Develop reusable templates, configuration patterns, automation capabilities, and platform optimization improvements.
  • Scrum & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Serve as a technical lead for campaign and journey development within Scrum teams, supporting sprint planning, refinement, and estimation.
    • Lead the technical execution of sprint commitments and communicate progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers to the Scrum team, Scrum Master, and Product Owner.
    • Proactively manage dependencies, maintain delivery quality, and resolve or escalate blockers and risks.
    • Mentor Developers through solution and configuration reviews, technical coaching, and execution support.
  • Governance & Quality Assurance
    • Validate campaign and journey readiness and ensure adherence to established governance, QA, and deployment standards
    • Reduce rework and production defects through thorough solution reviews, testing, and QA discipline.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Advanced Data & Audience Development: Strong expertise in audience segmentation, identity resolution, and leveraging complex datasets to drive targeting accuracy and personalization at scale
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience using Snowflake or comparable cloud data platform to support campaign data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Marketing, Data, Product, and Technology teams to deliver high-quality, on-time outcomes
  • Agile & Scrum Delivery: Experienced in sprint planning, estimation, and execution within fast-paced Scrum environments, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Problem Solving & Optimization: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex data, platform, and execution issues while driving continuous improvement
  • Governance & Quality Focus: Demonstrated commitment to high-quality execution through rigorous QA, adherence to governance standards, and proactive prevention of production defects
  • Mentorship: Experience mentoring junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best practice sharing

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing Technology, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and practical experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing technology, campaign automation, journey orchestration, or a related discipline (required)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Platform and one or more campaign or journey orchestration capabilities, such as AJO, ACO, or FAC (preferred)
  • Experience with SQL and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake for audience validation and troubleshooting (preferred)
  • Experience with additional campaign platforms such as Unica or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is beneficial
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions (required)
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Technology, and Data teams (required)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (required)
  • AJO Business Practitioner Certification (preferred)
