Overview

As a Sr Data Architect, you will provide strategic leadership for the organization's enterprise data architecture, establishing the vision, standards, and governance framework that enable trusted, scalable, and business-aligned data capabilities across platforms, applications, analytics, and AI. You will be responsible for defining future-state data architectures, enterprise data models, and architecture roadmaps while ensuring consistency, security, and data quality across the enterprise. Working closely with business and technology leaders, you will drive the adoption of modern data management practices and serve as the primary authority for enterprise-wide data architecture decisions, standards, and governance.

Your Impact

The essential functions of this position include:
  • Own the enterprise-wide data architecture across business domains, Microsoft Fabric, Oracle Fusion ERP, analytics, AI, governance, and enterprise applications, aligning data capabilities with business strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Define the target-state data architecture, multi-year transition roadmaps, reference architectures, and enterprise guardrails that guide multiple platforms, programs, and delivery teams.
  • Establish enterprise data domains, authoritative source principles, shared business entities, interoperability standards, and decision rights that create consistency beyond any single warehouse or reporting solution.
  • Develop and govern conceptual and logical enterprise data models; provide direction for physical models implemented by Data Engineering and EDW teams.
  • Define architecture patterns for governed data products, data contracts, master and reference data, metadata, lineage, quality, retention, privacy, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide strategic data architecture leadership for Oracle Fusion ERP, operational systems, Microsoft Fabric modernization, enterprise analytics, semantic models, and AI-ready data.
  • Partner with business data owners, data stewards, Enterprise Architecture, Security, ERP, Infrastructure, analytics, and engineering leaders to translate enterprise capabilities into cohesive data architecture.
  • Lead cross-domain architecture reviews, resolve design conflicts, identify enterprise dependencies and risks, and document architecture decisions and approved exceptions.
  • Define certification criteria for trusted, business-certified data, shared metrics, and reusable data products that support consistent reporting and decision-making.
  • Guide enterprise adoption of Microsoft Purview and related capabilities for catalog, glossary, lineage, classification, stewardship, data quality, and policy implementation.
  • Set architecture requirements for integration and pipeline patterns, including orchestration, resiliency, observability, error handling, testing, CI/CD, and environment promotion; Data Engineering owns detailed build, deployment, and production operation.
  • Maintain enterprise data principles, capability maps, domain models, information flows, reference architectures, decision records, standards, and roadmaps; advise and mentor architects, engineers, analysts, and governance practitioners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Architecture, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data architecture, information architecture, data modeling, integration, governance, data warehousing, or cloud data platforms, including leadership across multiple business domains or transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise target-state architectures, transition roadmaps, reference patterns, architecture principles, standards, and decision governance.
  • Advanced expertise in enterprise conceptual and logical modeling, canonical and domain models, master and reference data, and the relationship between enterprise models and physical implementation models.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including lakehouse, warehouse, data mesh, medallion, governed data products, semantic layers, APIs, events, batch, and near-real-time integration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Power BI semantic models, and Azure data services sufficient to establish enterprise architecture direction and evaluate solution designs.
  • Experience architecting data across ERP platforms and enterprise applications; Oracle Fusion ERP transformation experience is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of metadata, lineage, business glossary, data quality, master and reference data, classification, privacy, security, retention, and lifecycle controls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview or comparable data governance, catalog, and lineage platforms.
  • Experience establishing architecture governance, data contracts, architecture decision records, review forums, exception processes, and standards adoption across multiple delivery teams.
  • Ability to distinguish enterprise architecture accountability from solution implementation, while collaborating effectively with Data Engineering, BI, platform, security, governance, and business teams.
