Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead project cost management activities for large-scale EPC projects from initiation to closeout.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, commitments, expenditures, and EAC/ETC.
  • Analyze financial performance, identifying cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare executive-level cost reports and financial performance summaries for leadership.
  • Lead Earned Value Management processes, monitoring project performance metrics.
  • Evaluate financial impacts of change orders and incorporate approved changes into budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure integrated project controls and accurate reporting.
  • Support project startup, execution, forecasting, and closeout aligning cost with schedule and reporting.
  • Review financial transactions to ensure accurate project performance and compliance.
  • Assist in annual budgeting, financial planning, audits, and executive reporting.
  • Develop cost control strategies and reporting improvements to enhance performance.
  • Mentor junior staff in project controls processes.

About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions isseekinga highly skilledSenior Cost Specialistto lead project cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance reporting across large and complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This role supports critical infrastructure projects including power generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), renewable energy, transmission, substations, data centers, and industrial facilities.

What Youll Do
  • Lead project cost management activities for large-scale EPC projects from project initiation through closeout.
  • Develop,maintain, andmonitorproject budgets, forecasts, cash flow, commitments, expenditures, and Estimate at Completion (EAC)/Estimate toComplete (ETC).
  • Analyze project financial performance, including cost variances, labor productivity, procurement, subcontractor costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs),identifyingrisksand recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare executive-level cost reports, dashboards, forecasts, and financial performance summaries to support project and executive leadership.
  • Lead Earned Value Management (EVM) processes,monitoringproject performance through CPI, SPI, productivity metrics, and other project controls indicators.
  • Evaluate the financial impacts of change orders, contract modifications, claims, andscopechanges, incorporating approved changes into project budgets and forecasts.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Scheduling, Accounting, and Commercial teams to ensure integrated project controls andaccuratefinancial reporting.
  • Support project startup, baseline development, execution, forecasting, and closeout while ensuring alignment between cost, schedule, and progress reporting.
  • Review commitments, purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor costs, accruals, and financial transactions to ensureaccurateproject financial performance and compliance with company procedures.
  • Assistwith annual budgeting, financial planning, audits, monthly close activities, and executive reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies,reportingimprovements, and project controls best practices to enhance project performance and profitability.
  • Mentor Cost Specialists and Project Controlspersonnel,providingtechnical guidance andsupportingthe continuous improvement of projectcontrolsprocesses.

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration,or a relatedfieldOR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum10+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, cost management, project finance, construction management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting large-scale EPC, utility,industrial, infrastructure, or power generation projectsrequired.
  • Experience managing cost controls for projects exceeding $100 million preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting activities.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent capital projects preferred.
  • Ability to travelas neededfor site visits, field verification, and project activities.
