OverviewAmeris Bank is adding commercial and business bankers in Tampa and Orlando, two of its fastest-growing markets. Orlando is now the bank's 3rd largest of 30 markets after 11 years, and Tampa is the 5th largest after opening 6-7 years ago. The bank is looking for experienced relationship managers who already have a following in the market. There are openings at five levels (two business banker, three commercial banker), with the primary focus on upper-end commercial bankers.
Responsibilities- Originate, sponsor and underwrite your own commercial loans
- Manage client relationships from first call through payoff, in a true relationship manager model rather than a hunter-skinner structure
- Focus on C&I companies and their operating accounts
- Gather deposits, including non-interest-bearing operating accounts
- Grow your book of business and referral network in your local market
Qualifications- Minimum 8 years of business or commercial relationship management experience
- At least the last several years in the Tampa or Orlando market, with an established commercial client following
- Strong credit skills, with the ability to sponsor and underwrite your own deals
- Proven loan and deposit production in C&I banking
- Already based in Tampa or Orlando (relocation candidates are not considered)
Production goals- Lower levels: approximately $10MM in loans and $10MM in deposits
- Higher levels: above $20MM in both loans and deposits, with about one-third of deposits in non-interest-bearing operating accounts
Compensation- Base salary from the mid-$100Ks at lower levels to above $200K at higher levels, based on experience, skills and production
- Uncapped incentive compensation
- Sign-on or guaranteed bonus considered case by case to offset forfeited bonuses
