AECOM is seeking a Senior Business Analyst - Major Infrastructure Program to join our team.

This position is based on-site in Mississauga.

We are seeking an experienced professional to support the delivery of a large, complex infrastructure program, working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to understand business needs, define requirements, and support the successful delivery of program initiatives.

Major Responsibilities
  • Apply Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) methodologies, processes and tools in conjunction with established project management standards and procedures.
  • Elicit and document business requirements using appropriate methods for each engagement, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits/observation, business process analysis and use case scenarios.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze, document and validate information needs and functional requirements.
  • Develop business analysis artifacts as required, including Business Requirements Documents, Process Maps, Functional Requirements Documents, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Use Cases, UI Wireframes, Functional Specification Documents and Business Cases.
  • Serve as the requirements conduit between the stakeholder community and delivery/technical teams.
  • Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established scope.
  • Apply enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies.
  • Successfully manage multiple simultaneous initiatives that may be at different stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Challenge assumptions and work with business units to support the successful execution of their plans.
  • Apply strong analytical and requirements management skills to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess, at a minimum:
  • A Bachelor Degree in business, computer science or a related field + minimum 8 years of relevant experience encompassing Enterprise Analysis, Requirements Management and Planning, Requirements Elicitation and Communication, Requirements Analysis and Documentation, and Solution Assessment and Validation or a three-year college diploma + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience.

Preferred Requirements
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification and membership in the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
  • 10 years of business analysis experience encompassing Enterprise Analysis, Requirements Management and Planning, Requirements Elicitation and Communication, Requirements Analysis and Documentation, and Solution Assessment and Validation.
  • Experience supporting large, complex projects or programs, preferably within the infrastructure sector.
  • Experience on at least three large projects valued at more than $2 million and lasting at least 18 months.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) framework and methodology.
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to assess both overall business needs and detailed requirements, recognize strategic implications and provide sound recommendations.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, including creative thinking, decision-making, learning, problem-solving and systems thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively produce high-quality business analysis documentation at the appropriate level of detail for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing templates and standardized documentation.
  • Understanding of fundamental business principles and best practices and the ability to ensure they are incorporated into and supported by solutions.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong relationship management, presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing abilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, and business process modelling software.
  • Strong attention to detail, personal organization and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical and trustworthy conduct.
