Full Job Description
STV is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Project Manager/Senior Structural Engineer to join our Carolinas Bridge practice. This hybrid position may be located in Columbia, South Carolina or our Charleston, South Carolina offices. Consideration to other South Carolina locations will be given for highly qualified candidates.

STV North Carolina and STV South Carolina have been providing bridge engineering services as premier consultants in the transportation industry for decades. Our offices provide bridge design and maintenance inspection services to DOTs, transit agencies, and municipalities throughout the Carolinas. This position will involve management, analysis, design, and inspection of highway, rail, retaining wall, sound barriers, and pedestrian bridges and associated structures. Responsibilities Include:
• Work as an integral part of the Carolinas Bridge Practice.
• Manage projects involving bridge/structural design. Highly qualified candidates will also manage bridge maintenance inspections and rehabilitation design.
• Provide analysis, design, and inspection of bridges and related structures.
• Support and/or lead structural design on transportation projects.
• Serve as project manager or bridge design task lead as needed.
• Sign and seal bridge plans, and roadway structure plans, as Engineer of Record.
• Manage and/or perform structural calculations, analysis, modeling, and quantification, to include Seismic.
• Support preparation of technical proposals to win work.
• Provide leadership and direction by mentoring and motivating junior staff.
• Grow and manage a South Carolina based Bridge Group.
• Work with senior managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, proposals, client service plans, and project delivery plans.
• Assist senior staff in oversight of project delivery to ensure projects meet or exceed forecasted profit margins.
• Proactively drive safety and ensure that health and safety practices are maintained.
• Assist in maintaining quality of project deliverables produced by the Carolinas Bridge Practice.
• Foster and manage Bridge client relationships at appropriate levels to help procure new business. Engage in leadership positions in professional societies and meetings where you will work to develop and maintain relationships with clients, teaming partners, and recruit potential technical staff hires.

Qualifications Include:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive design experience on structural engineering projects. Extensive highway structure experience in South Carolina, including Seismic analysis, is required. Alternative Delivery experience is required.
• NCDOT experience, GDOT experience, and/or rail experience is a plus. NBIS certification is a plus. Maintenance inspection experience and rehabilitation/repair expertise is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina required.
• Solid structural analysis, load rating, and design skills with an understanding of related engineering disciplines needed to complete transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Project management skills and ability to plan and coordinate work efforts needed to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MicroStation. Open Bridge is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to form effective relationships with staff and clients.

Compensation Range:
$138,866.45 - $185,155.27
