Job Summary
The Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable, event-driven backend systems using TypeScript and AWS Serverless architecture. The role focuses on building cloud-native services, RESTful APIs, Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) applications, and AI-powered solutions using technologies such as Claude, AWS Bedrock, and LangGraph. The engineer will develop intelligent agents, RAG solutions, and enterprise AI integrations while ensuring secure identity management, efficient data access, application performance, and engineering excellence. The role requires strong experience with AI-assisted development practices and collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript and AWS Serverless architecture.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs, domain integrations, and event-driven workflows across enterprise systems.
• Architect and implement distributed systems using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and related AWS services.
• Develop and maintain Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services using TypeScript.
• Build AI-enabled applications leveraging Claude, AWS Bedrock, and LangGraph.
• Design and orchestrate AI workflows, intelligent agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, and enterprise AI integrations.
• Work with DynamoDB and integrate backend services with enterprise analytics platforms such as Snowflake.
• Implement caching strategies to improve application performance and scalability.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, enterprise entitlements, and role-based access controls.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools for code generation, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Frontend Engineers, and Data Engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and cloud-native best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering or backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, microservices, and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.
• Expertise in AWS Serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Cognito, and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
• Experience designing and implementing scalable event-driven integrations across multiple business domains.
• Hands-on experience with Claude, AWS Bedrock, LangGraph, Python, Bedrock Guardrails, AI agents, and RAG-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Okta, and Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and identity management.
• Experience implementing OAuth scopes, role-based access control (RBAC), enterprise entitlements, and authorization frameworks.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for code generation, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation, with measurable improvements in development productivity.
• Strong understanding of DynamoDB, NoSQL data models, caching strategies, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience integrating backend applications with Snowflake for analytics and reporting.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Git-based workflows, monitoring, and cloud security best practices.
• Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS certifications.

• Experience in financial services or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and DevOps practices.
