Job Description & Summary
As a Senior Associate in our Financial Services Consulting practice at PwC, you will possess a broad understanding of various aspects of operations consulting. You will provide comprehensive guidance and support to clients in optimizing operational efficiency and effectiveness. Working in this area, you will analyze client needs, develop operational solutions, and offer recommendations tailored to specific business requirements. For this role, we are looking to grow our team focused on the Insurance sector (P&C, Life, Group Benefits / Retirement, Wealth Management) which includes working with insurance carriers, distributors, and partners.

The Opportunity:

As a senior associate in the Insurance team for Financial Services Consulting, you'll work with a dedicated group of problem solvers, helping to design solutions for complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understand the client's business and technology strategy and operations through research, interviews, formulating and testing hypotheses


  • Conducting and managing market research and quantitative and qualitative analyses, including the synthesis of complex data into meaningful insights


  • Deliver client projects on time and within budget exceeding client expectations through outstanding team performance and stakeholder management


  • Work directly with clients to integrate People, Process and Technology (Data) components into meaningful, value-added solutions


  • Build and maintain effective, trusting and collaborative client relationships at multiple levels


  • Collaborate with team members at various levels to lead and develop compelling client proposals, white papers, thought leadership and points of view, describing the business challenge and proposed business and technology solutions, scope, risks and dependencies


  • Contribute to building a strong and sustainable PwC culture through effective employee engagement, mentoring and coaching team members through timely, meaningful verbal and written feedback

What You'll Bring

  • Must have working experience within consulting services or strategic projects within a financial services organization


  • Understanding of the insurance industry, insurance products and distribution considered an asset


  • Hands on exposure to insurance functions including sales, underwriting, claims, customer administration, and reporting considered an asset


  • Experience designing target operating models, assessing business capabilities, and building business cases considered a very strong asset


  • Experience within Technology and Data strategy and transformation activities including familiarity with Technology Architecture, automation, Data management


  • Familiarity with technology concepts including architecture (e.g. business, technical, logical, data), data strategy, governance and management, systems/applications (e.g. trade booking, investment book of record, collateral management, risk management)


  • Interest in emerging trends related to insurance and financial services, with the ability to multitask and manage ambiguity as you navigate changes to requests and tight timelines


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; self-motivated with a passion for client work and team work.


  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
