Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Relations, the Senior HR Advisor provides strategic and operational HR support to the Fort Saskatchewan and Joffre Nitrogen sites.

This role partners with leaders across both sites to deliver people solutions that support business objectives, enhance employee experience, develop talent, and drive organizational effectiveness and change. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing strategic consultation with hands-on HR support.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the lead HR partner for the Fort Saskatchewan and Joffre Nitrogen sites, providing strategic HR guidance to site leadership and supporting the achievements of business objectives
  • Partner with leaders to develop workforce plans and address current and future talent needs
  • Provide coaching and consultation on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, performance management, and other people-related matters
  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies, practices, and employment legislation while mitigating organizational risk
  • Lead and support the execution of HR programs and processes, including compensation, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and HR Operations to deliver HR services, programs, and solutions that meet business needs
  • Analyze workforce data, employee feedback, exit interviews, and other people metrics to identify trends and recommend actions for continuous improvement
  • Support disability management and employee accommodation processes in partnership with leaders, COEs, and third-party providers
  • Consult on organizational change, restructuring, business improvement initiatives, and other projects impacting people and culture
  • Participate in and lead special HR projects and initiatives as needed


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive HR generalist experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Working knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and regulations
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and/or fast-paced growth environments
  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders and build strong partnerships across multiple business functions
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives and supporting business transformation
  • Excellent communication, presentation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed environment and balancing enterprise and site-specific priorities
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%
