As a Senior Advisor
, you will:- Advise executive leadership on clean energy demonstration policies, long-range strategies, and organizational priorities to accelerate the commercialization of emerging energy technologies.
- Lead coordination and alignment across Department of Energy (DOE) program offices, National Laboratories, federal agencies, Tribal and state governments, and industry partners.
- Represent leadership in high-level engagements with senior DOE officials, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congress, and external industry executives to defend program positions and resolve sensitive issues.
- Evaluate complex programmatic, technical, financial, and organizational issues, including project milestones and major funding initiatives, to identify emerging risks and recommend executive mitigation strategies.
- Lead strategic transformation, process improvement, and program governance initiatives to optimize workforce planning and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Prepare high-level executive deliverables (decision memoranda, briefings, congressional testimony) and monitor legislative/regulatory developments while coordinating agency responses to congressional, GAO, and Inspector General inquiries.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- This position is not included in a Bargaining Agreement.
QualificationsSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of the 3 of the following:
- Formulating and recommending long-range organizational strategies, program policies, or strategic plans involving large-scale energy, industrial, or technology demonstration and deployment initiatives.
- Evaluating project milestones, technical feasibility, or investment decisions across complex programs to identify systemic risks and develop executive-level risk mitigation strategies.
- Assessing multi-project or portfolio performance using qualitative and quantitative evaluative methods to improve organizational effectiveness, resource allocation, and program governance.
